(Clearwisdom.net) Gangbei Prison (now known as Binhai Prison) has been an evil place where the CCP persecutes practitioners. As a result of torture, some practitioners died, some were disabled, and some suffered mental collapse. The persecution has already lasted 12 years and it is still going on today. Below are some examples of such mistreatment.

Brutal torture

Hebei District practitioner Mr. Li Xiwang was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment and suffered all sorts of torture in Gangbei Prison. He was handcuffed and hung up for 28 days, which caused him to become incontinent. He was then put in a one-square meter solitary confinement cell for more than one year. After being released from 8 years of imprisonment, he was once again arrested on December 21, 2010. He was then secretly sentenced and taken back to Gangbei Prison on July 18, 2011. In just 10 days, he died after being subjected to various tortures including being chained to the floor.

Nankai District practitioner Mr. Zhu Wenhua was tortured for more than six hours by guard Liu Chao and criminal inmates, and died. After he died, his eyes were wide open. The guards tried but could not close them.

Jinghai County Practitioner Mr. Ren Dongsheng suffered a mental collapse due to the torture.

Because of torture, Mr. Ma Hongzhi was partially paralyzed and is unable to take care himself. Mr. Wang Jie's eardrums were perforated due to the torture. Mr. Song Zhishan was choked and almost died. Several practitioners were tortured to the brink of death including Mr. Nie Baoli, Mr. Zhou Xiangyang, and Mr. Wei Guanghua. Over 60 practitioners were brutally mistreated.

Because Mr. Zhou Xiangyang did not give up his belief, guards recently began to force-feed him every day and tortured him by chaining him to the floor.

When Mr. Nie Baoli held a hunger strike to protest, he was brutally force-fed and fainted. Guards ordered the prison doctor to prick Mr. Nie's fingertips as well as the soles of his feet with a needle to wake him up.

Another time, guards ordered inmate Liu Haijun to beat Mr. Nie brutally. Four inmates lifted him up and then threw him down on the floor; as a result Mr. Nie's back was broken. Prison official Zhang Shilin and hospital head Meng threatened him saying, “Officials from Tianjin Political and Judicial Bureau told us to torture you to death.”

To cover up the facts of the brutality carried out there, guards always monitor the detained practitioners' family visits. If torture is ever mentioned in the conversation, they immediately take the practitioners back to the cell and force their family members to leave.

In various prisons and forced labor camps in Tianjin, officials often ordered inmates to beat practitioners. Many of the inmates are hardened criminals and include rapists, murderers, drug addicts, and robbers. This is especially common at Gangbei Prison. For example, guard Liu Chao and inmates beat Mr. Zhu Wenhua to death. After guard Song Xuesen ordered inmates to torture Mr. Zhou Xiangyang, he threatened them whenever he did not hear the sound of Mr. Zhou being beaten. Inmate Cong Shude, a rapist sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment, had his detention term reduced several times because he tortured practitioners.

Mr. Zhou's mother came to visit him at Gangbei Prison, but was denied. After she waited from 8 to 11 a.m., more than 20 guards came running out, with black shields held in one hand and police batons in their other hand. Some of them had an electric baton. Deputy prison head Li Guoyu came out with several managers including Song Xuesen, and Zhang Shilin. Li said to Mr. Zhou's mother fiercely, “Stay away! Do not cross the cordon!” She received a notice that afternoon that prohibited Mr. Zhou's family from visiting him. One manager taunted her and said sarcastically, “Go to Hu Jintao [if you want to see your son]!”

Inciting guards to brutalize practitioners by promising them money and promotions

Gangbei Prison officials incite guards to brutally persecute practitioners by promising them money or promotions. For example, deputy division head Guo Wei was promoted to deputy prison head for showing more guards how to chain practitioners to the floor. Zhang Shilin, one of the guards who tortured practitioners the worst, was promoted to division head. Guard Song Xuesen, who ordered inmates to torture Mr. Zhou Xiangyang, was promoted to division political head. Li Guoyu, another guard who tortured practitioners the worst, was also promoted to deputy division head. He also found a job at Gangbei Prison for his nephew Li Weiyi. Guard Zhao Shuquan was promoted to division head for torturing practitioners. Guard Qi Shuhai was promoted to deputy security head.
