(Clearwisdom.net) In July 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Tingfang was taken to the Suining Brainwashing Center. She was released in October, and was noticeably slower mentally. Her symptoms became worse as time went on. She died on December 7, 2011.

Ms. Li's husband can't help but cry when talking about her. He alleviates his sorrow by drinking after work.

Ms. Li was regarded as a very kind person by the villagers. She suffered from many illnesses for several decades. She went all over for medical treatment, but to no avail. In 1997, she began practicing Falun Gong, and her illnesses disappeared without treatment. She made great improvements both physically and mentally.

After the Jiang regime and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to suppress Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Ms. Li was repeatedly arrested and had her home ransacked. The following is her account that was published on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website in 2005:

“On the morning of January 4, 2001, Kang Jialiang, head of the Commune Party Committee, and others came to my home. When I got home at 1:00 p.m. after working in the fields, they ordered me to open all the doors. They ransacked the house and confiscated Falun Gong books and a video recorder. They then pushed me into the police car and took me to the Commune Brainwashing Center. They attempted to 'transform' me and get me to sign the 'transformation' list. When I refused to cooperate, they tried to grab my hands and took my fingerprints against my will. Their attempts failed and they locked me in.

“On January 9, they transferred me to the Nanqiang Commune Brainwashing Center. Guards Wang Xun and Mi Hao forced all of the practitioners to swear at Falun Gong every day. Another practitioner and I refused to. The guards then abused us in a number of ways, such as slapping us in the face, kicking and punching us, hanging us up by handcuffs, and depriving us of food.

“On February 4, I was transferred to the Wujiawan Detention Center. On June 5, I was taken to the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-year term.

“Not long after I returned home, Kang Jialiang and others tricked me into going to the commune office and held me for a week.

“There was a wave of arrests in the town before the 16th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. At 5:00 a.m., my husband went out selling vegetables and I was home making breakfast. I heard someone knock at the door and opened it. A group of people came to drag me out, and my clothes were torn. They broke into my home and searched everywhere. They pushed me into the police car and took me to the commune office. I said that I wanted to go home. Commune deputy head Xi Min snarled, 'Pull this woman out and beat her.'

“I was released after the conference was over. After that, they came to my home many times and harassed us. As a result, my younger daughter couldn't go to school.”
