At around 4:00 p.m. on September 22, 2009, Deputy director Li Zhengchi lead six plainclothes officers to arrest Ms. Li Fengbo. They ransacked her home, and took a computer, printer, and her Falun Dafa books. On the afternoon of that same day, police also arrested five other practitioners.

The police interrogated Ms. Li overnight at the Beishan Police Station, but she did not say anything. The police detained her at the Qitaihe City First Detention Center. After thirty days, she passed out many times, and was taken to the hospital for a check up. The doctor found she had late stage lung cancer. The center authorities instructed her family to pick her up for fear of being held responsible for her death. Yet thereafter, the local police often harassed her at home and never left her alone.

The court called Ms. Li on April 20, 2010 to appear on trial, and wanted to force her to admit to five fabricated crimes. Her brother carried her to the court, but she could not speak. The court still sentenced her to three years in prison with probation.

Ms. Li could not walk, had difficulty breathing, and died at 2:20 p.m. on October 16, 2010.
