She hasn't bought any new clothes for the last few years. Her relative was about to get engaged and she needed some decent clothing.
Ms. Mei said hello to an older woman who was selling newspapers at a newsstand on the way home. She gave the lady a Shen Yun CD. After looking at the CD she said, "Oh, this is Falun Gong stuff." She then threw it aside. She raised her head and changed her expression. She looked at Ms. Mei, squinted her eyes and said, "You are so young, why do you do this? How much money do they pay you?" Ms. Mei remained calm and said, "We save our money and live frugally so we can do this. Auntie, if someone gave you money, would you be willing to risk your life to clarify the truth about Falun Gong?"
Ms. Mei began practicing Falun Gong in 2004. She knows that the Chinese Communist Party has poisoned many people with their propaganda, and she knows that if people don't wake up soon, before long heaven will eliminate the Chinese Communist Party, and their futures will be lost. Knowing this she told strangers every day the facts about Falun Gong and gave them truth clarifying materials. For the last six years she never shirked her responsibility and worked hard every day. She persuaded thousands of people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party. She dislikes spending money on food or clothing, and she has saved over 40,000 yuan to make truth clarification materials. Before practicing Falun Gong, she spent her money freely. She spent hundreds of yuan on each piece of clothing, but now she spends her money quite differently.
There are many young practitioners like Ms. Mei in China. In order for the Chinese people to have a wonderful future, they have purchased their own equipment and invested all of their energy in making truth clarifying materials. I once asked a practitioner who spent a lot of money to make materials, "How much, roughly, have you spent on truth clarification materials these last few years?" I was surprised to hear him say in a stern manner, "Because I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, I have spent my own money for truth clarification materials. The number is not important. If I have money I use it. If I have ten dollars then I use ten dollars. Only a person's heart is important, not the amount. As you know, I am pretty well off, so I should spend more. Whenever I heard of practitioners having difficulty in affording a computer or a printer, I helped out. Some peoples' financial circumstances are difficult, but they can make truth clarification materials. Whatever is lacking, I can help out with. I can give whatever money is needed."
Ms. Mei did not give up on that lady who was selling newspapers. We told her, "Falun Dafa teaches people to be good. We are telling you the facts about Falun Dafa. As long as you remember in your heart that 'Falun Dafa is good, and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good', then everything will be fine.'" Finally she understood. She said, "I didn't realize this. Thank you for telling me." Ms. Mei said to me while walking, "In cultivation we should always think of other people first. You can't compare the importance of saving more people with eating well and wearing expensive clothing.” She said that a practitioner's greatest happiness is, "To save another person!"
