(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Mr. Chen Shiming from Danling County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, died on April 10, 2011 as a result of torture. He had repeatedly been arrested and tortured before he passed away. In July 2010, Mr. Chen was arrested and sent to a forced brainwashing center where he was injected with unknown drugs that caused memory loss and left him dependent on others to care for him.

Re-enactment of the torture of harmful drug injections

In July 2010, Mr. Chen was arrested at his home for the fifth time. Eight police officers from Danling County punched and kicked Mr. Chen before they dragged him into a police car. The police took him to a makeshift forced brainwashing center located in a guesthouse at the Meishan 505 Telecommunications Department. He was subjected to severe tortures, including injections of unknown drugs. In addition, the food and drink he was given is suspected to have been laced with drugs. It was not until Mr. Chen suffered from hypertension and was dying that he was released. Mr. Chen appeared to have lost his memory and his cognitive abilities were compromised. He could not stop shaking and could not stand still. He became extremely thin and had to depend on other people to care for him. He passed away in less than six months after his release.

Mr. Chen was a villager from the fourth group of Baita Village, Danling County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. He started practicing Falun Gong in October 1998. He used to suffer from myelodysplasia syndrome (MDS), arthritis and nephritis. He was cured without any medical treatment shortly after he started practicing Falun Gong. In March 2000 he was arrested and detained in the Danling County Detention Center for 15 days. In October 2000, he was arrested again and detained for over 40 days.

In September 2001, Mr. Chen was distributing materials containing important facts about Falun Gong when he was arrested and detained at the Danling Detention Center for more than 30 days. The police transferred him to the Mianyang Forced Labor Camp without notifying anyone. At the camp, he was subjected to a myriad of tortures, including squatting for an extended period of time, beatings, kickings, solitary confinement and forced labor. The prison guards denied him the right to make any phone calls for more than four months. He was imprisoned there for 18 months.

In May 2006 Mr. Chen was arrested again and detained in the Danling Detention Center for a month. He was again imprisoned in the Mianyang Forced Labor Camp for 15 months. He was deprived of sleep for an extended period of time. He was not released until he showed signs of hypertension and became critically ill.
