(Clearwisdom.net) I started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. I have experienced many trials and tribulations and have managed to remove many attachments during the decade of my cultivation practice. I used to suffer from a myriad of illnesses, such as heart disease, gynecological illness, stomach problems, arthritis and some other types of disorders. After I started to practice Falun Gong, I was gradually cured of them all. Finally I experienced what it felt like to be completely healthy. That was made possible only because our compassionate and magnificent Teacher endured karma for us and paid off a lot of the share for us. Words cannot describe my feelings. I resolve to do the three things well unconditionally, assist Teacher in the Fa-rectification and fulfill the grand prehistoric pledge I took.
Teacher Encouraged Me to Send Forth Righteous Thoughts
Due to interference from my family, I did not study the Fa diligently and failed to obtain a good understanding of the Fa. For over a year I did not send forth righteous thoughts at all. Later on I often felt unwell and was often overcome with physical pain. One night Teacher hinted at me to send forth righteous thoughts in a dream, in which I saw worms crawling over my family. Just as soon as I tried to escape, Teacher told me the formula for sending forth righteous thoughts. As soon as I recited the formula, “Fa zheng qian kun, xie e quan mie”, everything disappeared. I immediately realized it was high time for me to send forth righteous thoughts. After all, this is one of the three things that Teacher has instructed us to do in his Fa lectures. Why did I neglect it? I was too embarrassed to do it when my uncle was at home. I did not do it when we had guests. I did not do it when it was time to eat. Weren't these notions for me to overcome?
Sending forth righteous thoughts is one of the three things that Falun Gong practitioners are supposed to do well. How can I be qualified to be a Falun Gong practitioner if I neglect it? I made up my mind that no attempt of interference would ever stop me from sending forth righteous thoughts. 6 p.m. is the time for my family to have dinner, but I decided that nothing would stop me. At 6 p.m. I would enter my room, lock the door and ask Teacher to help me. After a few days, Teacher allowed me to witness the divine power of righteous thoughts. I saw fire shooting upwards from my fingertips. Although the fire did not go high, I knew it had to do with my present cultivation level. I realized that it was Teacher encouraging me to send forth righteous thoughts. Righteous thoughts are indeed powerful.
In addition to the four set times a day, I would send forth righteous thoughts at every set hour if I was home. Occasionally when I fell asleep before midnight, I would send forth righteous thoughts later on to make up for it. I send forth righteous thoughts about 10 times a day. Because I send forth righteous thoughts a lot, there has been less and less interference. I have less fear and more righteous thoughts. As a result, I can manage to find time to persuade people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and/or its two affiliated student leagues, distribute materials containing important facts about Falun Gong, and give away Shen Yun DVDs.
Searching Inward While Studying and Memorizing the Fa
Studying the Fa is the key to everything. It is the prerequisite and guarantee for Falun Gong practitioners to do the three things well. I am a small business owner. Due to my attachment to make profits, I used to neglect Fa study. During the day I managed to find time to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to people. In the evening I tended to let my mind drift when I studied the Fa. I would think of my work or my house chores. I could not focus. In addition, I felt sleepy when I studied the Fa. Sometimes I would stay on the same page for over 30 minutes.
Why was there so much interference? I searched inward and identified many attachments: personal gain, wealth, zealotry, laziness, and fear. Aren't these human notions? How can I do the three things well if I don't change my human notions at a fundamental level? Wasn't I granting the evil elements from other dimensions opportunities for exploitation? It requires righteous thoughts, not human notions, to validate the Fa. I must purge these notions from my mind, transform my mind and eliminate fear in order to walk on the path Teacher has arranged for me. I must truly cultivate each and every thought of mine. As each bad thought emerges, I must eliminate it.
Fellow Falun Gong practitioners and I had a discussion and decided to start Fa study groups. Group Fa study is an environment that Teacher has given us. We should exchange cultivation insights via group Fa study. Three to five practitioners would form a group and meet 2 to 4 times a week for Fa study. In addition, I would memorize the Fa every morning. Although I memorize the Fa slowly, I persevere with it. I would study one to two lectures each day. I would study Teacher's Fa lectures or Minghui Weekly for the rest of the time.
One day I was really focusing on studying the Fa when I saw Faluns the size of rice grains rotating on the Chinese character “要” meaning “must”. After two pages, I saw another Falun rotating on another Chinese character “念” meaning “study or read”. I was very excited. Teacher must be encouraging me. I “must read” means I must study the Fa.
I study the Fa every evening until 10 or 11 p.m. I study the Fa and memorize the Fa continuously. I send forth righteous thoughts every set hour. I now have ample righteous thoughts and less fear. In the past, I was afraid when I distributed truth-clarification materials or posted messages on the street. Sometimes I got them done as though I was trying to get them over with. Nowadays I have powerful righteous thoughts. It is sacred to clarify the truth and save sentient beings. Nowadays I talk about Falun Gong directly to people I run into, strangers and acquaintances alike. I tell them to read the booklets, for they are true stories and they are meant to save people from the CCP's lies. Sometimes I give out a Shen Yun DVD, as well.
Truth-Clarification Work Will Be Successful When I Study the Fa Well and Focus on Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts
There have been miracles when I distribute truth-clarification materials. One day I went to a small community to post messages. It was about 7 p.m. and it was not completely dark. The staircase of the apartment is located outside. A man was making a phone call on the staircase when I went up. I sent out a righteous thought for me to be invisible to him. I walked up and posted messages. Next I posted more messages on the wall along the staircase so that everyone could see then when they used the staircase. The messages stayed there for a long period of time.
One day I was distributing truth-clarification materials to passengers on a bus from a village. They had come into town for business. I thought they would read while waiting for the bus. There were two buses. The door of the first bus was shut. I went to the other bus with the door open and distributed truth-clarification materials and DVDs. When I returned to the first bus, I found a slip on the door. I pushed and the door opened. I took the opportunity to leave some truth-clarification materials. I thought it was Teacher encouraging me.
One day I was distributing truth-clarification materials to a village bus. There were about six people on the bus. I thought it would be easier if there was less of an audience. As as soon as that thought emerged, several farmers got off the bus. There were two men left on the bus. I got on the bus and distributed the truth-clarification materials and DVDs to them. They were quite receptive.
One day I went to a local Fa study near a bus stop in a village. I thought, “If only an old classmate were on the bus, I could persuade him into quitting the CCP.” I indeed ran into such a classmate at the bus stop, and he happened to be a village cadre and a member of the CCP. I was surprised to actually find him getting off the bus. I went up to greet him and decided it was time for him to be saved from the CCP's lies. I persuaded him to quit the CCP very quickly.
At first it was very difficult for me to start a conversation with strangers. I was afraid, I hesitated, and I was too proud. Through studying the Fa I enlightened to the fact that those were just notions. I must stay on the path Teacher has arranged for me. I was determined to overcome the test. Before I leave home, I would send forth righteous thoughts first and ask Teacher to help me.
One day I saw a fruit vendor alone in her store. I was selecting apples when I started to chat with her, “How's business these days? It is difficult to make profits these days. It must be very difficult for you to get up early and close late.” She appeared to find me friendly. “You are quite understanding, old lady.” I asked how many years of education she had received and whether she has joined the CCP's Youth League when she was little. She confirmed it, but said that it was useless now. “Why don't I help you quit the Youth League? Doing so will save you from disasters. You were imprinted with the mark of the beast when you pledged to be part of the Youth League. Quitting the Youth League is reclaiming your life. What is your last name?” “Li” she replied. “Why don't I give you a pseudonym Li Xingwang (meaning “prosperous”) on your withdrawal statement?” I added that reciting the words “Falun Gong is good” and “Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance is good” will bring her more business. She was delighted and thanked me repeatedly. I was very happy that I made a giant step in clarifying the truth to strangers.
That day the water delivery man came by. I took the opportunity and persuaded him to quit the CCP as well. After that I started to approach vegetable vendors, garbage collectors and pedestrians. The more people I talked to, the more righteous thoughts I had. Thus my fear diminished gradually. I go out every day and talk to people. Every day I help 3 to 5 people quit the CCP or the CCP's two student leagues. In the morning I go to markets where people congregate. I take advantage of all opportunities presented to me to clarify the truth and persuade people to quit the CCP.
Persuading a Schoolteacher to Quit the CCP
One day I saw an old man on the streets. I sent forth righteous thoughts first to eliminate any evil elements from other dimensions. I went up to him and started a conversation. He told me he was in his 70's and was a schoolteacher. I asked if he had heard about quitting the CCP, and he said he hadn't. I explained to him why it was important to quit. Then I explained to him the truth about the CCP's staged self-immolation designed to instigate hatred against Falun Gong and to justify its suppression. He asked if I practiced Falun Gong, and I said yes. Then I asked him again to quit the CCP. He said we had reached his home, so I suggested that he think over it. When I ran into him again, I asked if he had made up his mind. He smiled and shook his head signaling no.
I searched inward and realized that I hadn't clarified the truth well. I must have been attached to a result and lacked righteous thoughts. I calmed down and studied the Fa. I realized that I had too many notions. We are Falun Gong practitioners on the path to godhood. There is Teacher and there is the Fa. I must save him. Once I formed this wish, I decided to seek him out. The next day I ran into the schoolteacher again and asked to talk to him.
“You are an intellectual, so I should explain to you the story of how Falun Gong has spread around the world.” He was delighted. I explained to him more about the CCP's staged self-immolation, and told him the following: People in over 100 countries around the world practice Falun Gong, and those who practice Falun Gong are trying to become better people and to become the best of people. We are taught to be thoughtful of others because Teacher requires us to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance and asks us not to fight back when attacked verbally or physically. As a result of the CCP's persecution, it is heaven's will that the CCP is doomed. These days government officials are corrupt and also destroying the natural environment. We Falun Gong practitioners are trying to become better people and the CCP is persecuting us. What do you think about it? We risk the danger of arrest and imprisonment to tell you the truth without seeking any monetary gain. We are truly thinking for your future. If you do not quit the CCP, you will be destroyed along with it.” He then quickly asked to quit the CCP. “I know the CCP is way too corrupt. I saw the staged self-immolation on TV. I misunderstood you. Now I know everything.” I said, “Why don't I give you the pseudonym 'Gao Jiankang' (meaning “health”). I wish you good health and a good future.” He thanked me and parted with a smile.
Those Who Know the Truth Are Also Spreading the Truth
One day I ran into a secretary of a township government who had already quit the CCP. He said, “Could you please stay here for a short while? I have a friend that I would like you to talk to.” It turned out to be someone from my hometown. He quickly decided to quit the CCP.
There are several such cases. One person persuaded his relatives from the village to quit the CCP's student leagues after he did it. A cadre from the government's education department and her husband came over to see me. I told her to recite “Falun Gong is good” and “Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance is good” often. She promised to do so. A few days ago I ran into her on the street. She told me, “My lower back pain and leg pains have gone. I recite the words daily, and now I can work again! Falun Gong is miraculous! Thank you!” I told her, “Do not thank me. Thank my Teacher.” She immediately said, “Thank you, Teacher! Thank you, Teacher!”
I have also persuaded secretaries of political and legal committees, secretaries of town and township governments, township governors, bureau heads, police chiefs and cadres of district governments, old cadres in their 80's and 90's, etc., to quit. I try to persuade everyone I meet to quit the CCP.
None of this would be possible without Teacher's compassionate protection. I am melting into the Fa and assimilating myself with the Fa. The progress of the Fa-rectification has made me realize that I will only be able to save more people if I do the three things well and solidly, fulfill my own pledge, catch up with the Fa-rectification and follow Teacher home.
