(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 14 provinces. As per this report, 30 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jilin Province] Circumstances of Ms. Xu Guiying from Gongzhuling City

Gongzhuling City Security Bureau officials called Ms. Xu Guiying's husband on April 29, 2011, and ordered him to sign an official document for Ms. Xu's arrest. He refused. We have learned that Ms. Xu refused to tell the Security Bureau interrogators anything and was taken to the Siping Detention Center. Her husband was forbidden to see her when he delivered clothes for her.

2. [Yuanqu County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Jiang Shuju Held in Custody

Ms. Jiang Shuju from Yuanqu County was arrested at home on the evening of April 12, 2011. Officers from the Yuanqu County Domestic Security Division made the arrest and ransacked her home. Ms. Jiang was taken to the Yuanqu County Detention Center where she was held for two weeks before her family was informed that she will be placed in criminal detention for three monthe.

3. [Yuanqu County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Song Ronglin Arrested

Mr. Song Ronglin from Yuanqu County has been harassed and his home was ransacked many times. He was arrested again on the morning of April 29, 2011, by officers from the Zhongtiaoshan Police Department, including Sun Desheng. His home was ransacked. He was sent to the Yuanqu County Detention Center that same day.

4. [Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Jianhua Held in a Brainwashing Facility

Gudong Oil Extraction Plant Party secretary Gao Yuemin seized Mr. Zhao Jianhua from home on April 29, 2011, and held him in a brainwashing facility.

5. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Zhiwen Illegally Sentenced

Taxi driver Mr. Yang Zhiwen, in his 60s, lives in Qinglong Man Nationality Autonomous County. He was arrested and taken to the local police station in November 2010 as he spoke with a passenger about Falun Gong. He was first held in a newly built forced labor camp in Qinhuangdao City and then transferred to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City for a term of one year and two months. As of today his family hasn't seen him once. His 80-year-old father-in-law was worried and frightened because of his arrest. He died in mid April 2011.

7. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Yuejie and Ms. Liu Qiufen Arrested

Ms. Zhao Yuejie and Ms. Liu Qiufen from Zhaoyuan City were arrested on the morning of April 25, 2011, as they spoke with people about Falun Gong. Zhaoyuan City 610 Office agents took them to the Zhaoyuan City Brainwashing Center. The center has held several practitioners so far.

8. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ruilian and Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Ruilian from the Lixia District was arrested on the evening of April 28, 2011, together with more than ten other practitioners.

9. [Henan Province] Ms. Li Qingmin Arrested

Ms. Li Qingmin, in her 50s, an employee from the Zhongyuan Oil Field, was arrested on the morning of April 28, 2011, as she distributed information about Falun Gong in the Mengcheng Residential area. Officers from the Zhongyuan Oil Field Police Department made the arrest.

10. [Anhui Province] Ms. Chen Nan and Ms. Cui Minmin Held in the Wuhu City Brainwashing Center

11. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] The Persecution of Mr. Liang Yuhua and Ms. Liao Shaolin

Mr. Liang Yuhua, in his 50s, was arrested with two other practitioners on July 14, 2009, in Shawei Village, the Futian District. His home in the Futian District was ransacked. He was later sentenced to seven years in prison. We only know that he was transferred to Shaoguan Prison on March 16, 2011.

Ms. Liang Shaolin, in her late 50s, was arrested at home in September 2009. She was later sentenced to nine years in prison and is currently in the Guangzhong Women's Prison.

12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] The Persecution of Ms. Shi Lanfang and Mr. Li Changli

Ms. Shi Lanfang, in her 70s, retired from the Sichuan Aerospace Polytechnic Institute, was arrested in late March 2011 as she distributed information about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Xinjin "Law Education Center" (actually a brainwashing facility) to be brainwashed.

Mr. Li Changli, former head designer at the Liaoyuan Radio Factory of the Sichuan Academy of Aerospace Technology, was sentenced to eight years' incarceration and held in Deyang Prison. He was often placed in solitary confinement and subjected to detainees' verbal abuses and guards' mistreatment and torture since late March 2011.

13. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Jin Lanfang Goes Missing

Ms. Jin Lanfang from Xianning, Hubei Province, is employed at the Linde Gas Guangzhou Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. in the Nansha District. She went missing in April 2011.

14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ren Mingfang Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

We have learned that Ms. Ren Mingfang was arrested on the afternoon of April 13, 2011, as she distributed Shen Yun performance DVDs in the Lianhua Residential area in the Jinjiang District. A group of officers from the Longzhou Road Police Station 610 Office made the arrest. Her whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liao Peimin Arrested

Ms. Liao Peimin, 54, from Chengdu City was arrested at her rented residence near the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and taken to the Jihua Brainwashing Center the evening of April 28, 2011.

She was a nurse at the Chengdu City No.7 Hospital but was dismissed from her job for practicing Falun Gong after the persecution started in 1999. She was held in a brainwashing facility many times. She was arrested again on May 12, 2008, the day of the Sichuan Earthquake, and taken to the Jinhua Brainwashing Center for speaking with people about Falun Gong. Ms. Liao was not released until she developed serious heart problems last year. She has been under surveillance for more than a year following her release.

16. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Weng Qun Arrested

Ms. Weng Qun from Fuzhou City left home on the afternoon of April 25, 2011, but didn't return that night. Her family learned the next day that the Fuzhou City police had arrested her and were holding her in custody.

17. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Yufeng Escaped Arrest, Now Lives Away from Home to Avoid the Persecution: Additional Information

Ms. Xiong Yufeng lived in the Liujiaoting Community in the Hankou District. Hankou District Domestic Security Division head Jin Zhiping and deputy head Zhou Desheng and other officers harassed her at home on April 26, 2011, and attempted to arrest her. Ms. Xiong decided to leave and became homeless. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Hankou District 610 Office agents and officers from the Hankou District Domestic Security Division have arrested several practitioners.

Ms. Huang Meiling was taken to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center in late February 2011. Officials went to Hewan Women's Forced Labor Camp in the middle of the night on March 29, 2011, and took Ms. Yang Weifang to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Wang Hongyu was arrested at home on April 26, 2011.

18. [Kaili, Guizhou Province] Ms. Li Yan and Ms. Lei Xiaohong Currently Held in the Kaili City Detention Center

19. [Chongqing] Ms. Wang Shushan Subjected to Forced Labor

Shapingba District police, along with officers from the State Security Division, ransacked Ms. Wang Shushan's home and then informed her that she was given a two-year forced labor term, but can serve the term outside a forced labor camp. Ms. Wang is in her 60s.

20. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shen Lijun Released, Still Monitored and Harassed

Ms. Shen Lijun from Shenyang City was released on the afternoon of April 27, 2011, but officers from the Dongling Police Station and from the Paoxiao Community still monitor and harass her.

21. [Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province] The Persecution of Ms. Xu Huini and Ms. A Ya

Ms. Xu Huini and Ms. A Ya from Shangyu, Shaoxing City, were arrested around April 15, 2011, as they distributed information about Falun Gong in a residential area. Shangyu Domestic Security Division head Ding Wei and other officers made the arrests. Ms. Xu was released because of health problems.

22. [Shandong Province] Six Illegally Sentenced Practitioners Transferred to Jinan City to be Held

According to practitioners' families' initial verification, six practitioners including Ms. Yang Lanxiang and Ms. Song Guihua were transferred to Jinan City on April 12, 2011. Mr. Kao Fuquan's whereabouts are unknown.

23. [Fuyu County, Jilin Province] Ms. Yi Fengxia Persecuted

Ms. Yi Fengxia from Xiaoshibahao Village, Caijiagou Town, was arrested at home on the evening of April 19, 2011. The Caijiagou Town Police Station chief and more than ten officers made the arrest and took her to the Fuyu County Detention Center. They confiscated her computer, Falun Gong books, an MP4 player, and truth clarification materials.

We have learned that Ms. Yi was subjected to forced labor and will be sent away to be held after May 1, 2011.

24. [Beipiao, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Anxiang and Ms. Zhao Guihua Arrested

Ms. Zhao Anxiang and Ms. Zhao Guihua from Taiji, Beipiao, were arrested on the morning of April 27, 2011, for speaking with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Chaoyang City Domestic Security Division and from the Beipiao City Domestic Security Division made the arrests and ransacked their homes. The two practitioners were sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp that same afternoon.

25. [Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Wu Waiping and Ms. Gui Caihua Arrested

Ms. Gui Caihua didn't return home on April 24, 2011, after she went to a suburb to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. Yuehu Domestic Security Division officer called her husband the next day to inform him about her arrest. The Division officers ransacked her home but found nothing useful. They proceeded to ransack Ms. Gui's daughter's home. It happened that her son-in-law had returned home. They arrested him and held him in the Yingtan Detention Center.

26. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yu Qingquan and Ms. Jiang Xiaoli Arrested

Mr. Yu Qingquan and his wife, Ms. Jiang Xiaoli, were arrested on April 23, 2011, inside the Gongzhuling City Epidemic Prevention Station family compound. Their whereabouts are unknown.

27. [Shuangfeng County, Hunan Province] Ms. Xiong Qingqiu and Ms. Li Yuying from Shatang Township Arrested

Ms. Xiong Qingqiu and Ms. Li Yuying from Shatang Township, Shuangfeng County, Loudi City, were arrested on April 29, 2011, as they spoke with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Shatang Township Police Station made the arrests. The two practitioners were taken to the Shuangfeng County Detention Center that same night. Their families are forbidden from visiting them.

28. [Shenzhen, Guangdong Province] Ms. Tong Ling Held in the Longgang District Detention Center

Ms. Tong Ling was arrested on April 22, 2011, by officers from the Bantian Police Station in the Longgang District. They ordered the property management staff to deceive her into opening the door. Eight officers took Ms. Tong to the Bantian Police Station. They confiscated a new printer, a CD burner, and several Shen Yun DVDs. They transferred Ms. Tong to the Longgang Detention Center after 24 hours in the station.
