(Clearwisdom.net) Looking within is a magical tool that Master gave us to advance our cultivation, yet even today, with the end of Fa-rectification so near, some practitioners still don't take this seriously. They have not formed the habit of looking within, let alone forming a mechanism for looking within. I have come across several such fellow practitioners. When faced with tribulations, they don't look at themselves for the cause, but instead look at others. Some defend themselves by finding excuses rather than looking within. If you ask someone faced with troubles or tribulations whether he or she has looked within, they may say, “I did. But I could not find anything,” and they may not say or do anything further about it.

To advance our cultivation and save sentient beings by clarifying the truth, Dafa practitioners must look within. No matter what problems or troubles we are faced with, we should not casually let them pass by or slip away right in front us. We should grasp the opportunity to look for attachments within ourselves and give them up. Actually, looking for an attachment is a bit like searching for a hidden time bomb within yourself. Once you find it and rid yourself of it, you will have elevated yourself, so the evil will not be able to reach you and the danger will automatically be defused.

Master picked us up from hell and cleansed us. He modified the originally predestined course of our lives so that we could cultivate. From the day we became Dafa practitioners, nothing has happened coincidentally. Even when we see others in arguments or fights, we need to look within and see whether we are still holding on to any attachments. As a matter of fact, if we consider everything from the standpoint of the Fa, there truly has never been anything accidental. Whenever we encounter troubles, we should take them as opportunities to advance our xinxing and look within, asking ourselves why we have these tribulations. For example, when a bicycle tire is punctured, when someone says something rude which makes you feel bad, when the electricity goes out while you are studying the Fa, when a water pipe suddenly leaks, when the CD copier suddenly produces a bad disc, when the printer head suddenly gets clogged, and so on, we should pause for a moment and search for any attachments that we may be still holding on to, or some loophole that may be present in our cultivation.

A Dafa disciple who is grounded in the Fa is not affected by anyone. Some practitioners are not in the habit of looking within. They tend to look at things superficially and thus miss opportunities to improve. If one doesn't look within in a timely manner, he is already not grounded in the Fa and is exposing a loophole that the evil may take advantage of. Isn't he in a dangerous situation then? Seemingly insignificant or small problems may evolve into big troubles or tribulations. One may later have to undergo greater tribulations to pass a test, or worse, one may not be able to pass at all.

I know many diligent practitioners. They all first look within at themselves whenever encountering problems and they won't stop until they have identified the attachments. Let us take Master's teachings to heart. We should look within, look within, and look within again, and let it become part of us.

I hope that we will all be responsible and cultivate ourselves by avoiding as many deviations as possible, so that Master will worry less about us.
