(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Furong was arbitrarily arrested and given a 5-year prison sentence in 2009. After over a year of mistreatment and torture in the prison, he became emaciated, incontinent and unable to take care of himself. Due to his critical condition, the prison authorities released him on November 10, 2010. He was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. He died on March 20, 2011.

On the night of February 24, 2009, police from the Luohe City 610 Office, the Huiyuan District Police Sub-bureau, the Ganhechen Police Station and the Yanzhuang Village Guard Team, broke into the homes of four Falun Gong practitioners in Yanzhuang Village. They arrested Mr. Zhang Furong and ransacked his home. Mr. Zhang was later given a sentence of 5 years in prison.
