(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yin Xiaolan has been arrested numerous times for informing others about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. She was sentenced to 11 years of prison in 2002. She was severely tortured in Gansu Prison. This is her own description of the persecution she suffered.

I began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. On July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin's regime began the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. I went to the National Petition Office to petition for Falun Gong in Beijing, and was beaten and cursed by dozens of plainclothes police officers. I was escorted back to my city by the Tianshui Public Security Bureau staff and held in Tianshui Detention Center for 15 days and fined 250 yuan. After I was released, I was fired from my job. The responsible party was Bai Baoan, the manager of Tianshui Fuel Material Company.

In order to let the world know the truth about the persecution, we live frugally, use our own money to make truth clarification materials, expose the CCP's lies, and expose the brutal persecution. Several of us who make materials have been arrested, include me, Ms. Tang Qiong, Mr. Wang Youming, and Zhao Lanzhou.

In the middle of December, 2001, I was out walking when a car suddenly stopped right by me. Seven or eight men surrounded me and dragged me into the car. I tried my best to resist arrest and yelled out, “Kidnapping!” They punched me in the face hard, and blood gushed out of my nose and mouth. Those involved were from the Qinzhou District Public Security Bureau Joint Action Team in Tianshui: Liu Yashun, Zhang Pengju, Zhang Wenbin, Liu Zengqiang, Yang Xiaofeng, and others.

I was pulled into a hotel room. There, a policewoman searched me thoroughly and took everything away, including 800 yuan in cash. They did not give me a receipt. During the entire incident, they did not show any ID or any documentation. They took me to the Qinzhou District Political Legal Building and held me there with handcuffs on for three days and nights. (The former chief administrative security officer is Pei Guilin.) They transferred me to the Maiji District Public Security Bureau. There I was held in a two story building with a small courtyard with a big iron gate. During that time, officers Feng Jitang, Wu Hongxia, and Liu Ping took turns interrogating me. Feng Jitang and Wu Hongxia used a thick club to beat me. When it broke they used another one. I was forced to stand at the corner of the room, and Feng Jitang slapped my face. She slapped me so many times I lost count. I felt my face was numb, my head was dizzy and swollen, with blood running down my clothes. I was deprived of sleep. The interrogation lasted 12 days.

They later secretly transferred me to Qinan Detention Center. I was covered with injuries from head to the toe. One leg was injured so badly that I could not walk. My head was as big as an inflated balloon, and my eyes were swollen shut. I only had one set of clothes in the frigid weather. I had no daily hygiene items or a change of clothes.

Five months later, two police officers from Tianshui Public Security Bureau came to interrogate me. I asked them what kind of crime I had committed to be held in Qinan secretly and why my family members were not notified. They did not answer me.

One week after I was arrested, the Qinzhou District Public Security Bureau Joint Action Team, Pei Guilin, and another policeman went to my son's school, Tianshui No. 1 Middle School. With the school authority's consent, they arrested my 9th grade son who did not practice Falun Gong. They took him to Tianshui Detox Center, handcuffed and interrogated him, and later forced to stand facing the wall for two days and nights. Around nine in the morning the next day, Pei Guilin also took my husband to the Detox Center. Several policemen interrogated him. They also confiscated two of his cell phones.

When my husband was arrested, his father was dying, his mother was 80 years old, and his sister was bedridden due to illness. There were no other relatives nearby. His mother was crying hysterically and begging people to find her son. The police from the Public Security Bureau knew the situation, but still they took my husband and held him for 14 hours. He did not go back home until 11p.m. My father-in-law passed away the next day around 10 a.m. My son was released one hour before his grandfather passed away. Because my husband's cellphone was confiscated, it made life more difficult in arranging the funeral.

When I was held in Qinan in 2002, I was diagnosed with gallstones and required immediate surgery. I was released for medical treatment. When I was hospitalized before the surgery, I was taken away by the police from Qinchang District Public Security Bureau and held in Tianshui Detention Center.

Many Falun Gong practitioners were held in Tianshui Detention Center. We were forced to do slave labor, to learn the prison rules and regulations by heart, to be photographed, to report morning and night, to sign statements with our fingerprints, and to wash clothes for the guards. We were also subjected to room searches and body searches at anytime. Any objections or argument incurred a severe beating.

On December 8, 2002, Tianshui City Qinzhou District Court sentenced several Falun Gong practitioners. Wang Youming and I were each sentenced to 11 years, and Tang Qiong was sentenced to 12 years. None of our family members received any notification from the court. We appealed the verdict, but the court refused to answer us. Ms. Zhang Jinmei was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Her arm was fractured by the torture.

On March 30, 2003, Ms. Tang Qiong, Ms. Zhang Jinmei, and I were transferred to Gansu Women's Prison. Wang Youming and two other male practitioners were transferred to Gansu Men's Prison.

Once we arrived in the prison, we were strip-searched, our belongings were torn open, and 800f our personal items were confiscated. When they searched Tang Qiong, they found printed articles of Falun Dafa teachings. Guard Hua slapped her several times. When Zhang Jinmei tried to stop the guards from hitting people, she was shackled to the ground day and night for an entire week.

We suffered inhuman torture in prison. They strip searched us in front of other inmates in a big room every few days. The widows of the room were open, and there were people walking by. In broad daylight, they forced us to strip and searched us. If they found “forbidden items,” we were subject to beatings, torture, and confinement.

One month later, we were divided and sent to different prison districts. I was sent to the No. 1 district, where there was one other practitioner. We had to do slave labor, which way exceeded normal working hours, and were ordered to change our thoughts. The guards cursed us daily. Inmates were ordered to monitor us day and night. We were forced to learn the prison rules and regulations by heart, forced to write documents to eulogize the CCP, forced to watch videos slandering Master Li and Falun Dafa, forced to watch fabricated news by CCTV, were not allowed to clarify the truth, and were not allowed to communicate or talk to fellow practitioners.

We did not have any days off. We began working at 7 a.m. and did not stop until 10 p.m. We only had two short breaks for meals. Even during meal time we were forced to do work, such as snapping green beans, peeling garlic, and making paper bags. We were also assigned quality control duties. Most of the time, we had to continue do the work even after 10 p.m. If anyone was not able to finish the assigned number, they had to continue until they reached the quota. If anyone's quality was not up to par, they had to redo everything until the quality and quantity met the standards. You had to go to work as usual the next day at 7 a.m. No one was allowed sick leave. Family visiting time was one to two hours for other inmates, but only 20 minutes for Falun Gong practitioners. We were monitored closely for the visit. They record our visits and even had a guard sit next to us. We were forbidden to have snacks with family members, to buy daily living items, have access to hot water, were not allowed to walk around in the building or talk to anyone. Any inmate could report on Falun Gong practitioners and get rewards. My husband and son came to visit me during the New Year holiday, but were denied access by the prison authorities. My son missed me terribly but was still turned away for no reason. They went back home in tears. The prison authorities never abide by the law. Their actions are quite wicked.

Ms. Zhang Jinmei was hung on a rolled-up door for three days and nights with her feet barely touching the ground. This happened because she was discovered reading Master Li's teachings. Later she was handcuffed to a radiator for several days, and nobody was allowed to give her food or clothes (it was extremely cold at night), because she refused to give up Falun Dafa. She was put into confinement and beaten severely by male guards.

In late 2003, another Falun Gong practitioner came. A week later she died. The prison authorities claimed that she committed suicide by jumping off of a building, a trouble of her own making to avoid being “transformed.”

At the end of 2005, I had gallbladder surgery. After the surgery I was taken back to the prison. The hospital instructed that I be allowed to rest for at least 20 days, but the prison authorities only let me rest for a week. I was not allowed to lie down. They intensified their steps to force me “transform” and ordered me to write a “transformation” statement.

During that time, all the practitioners were in confinement and pressured to “transform.” The No. 1 prison district practitioners Yang Xiuqin, Wang Ailan, Ding Guixiang, and Ma Yulin were sent to solitary confinement. Several guards took turns persecuting them. Three inmates watched them day and night, deprived them of sleep, forced them to write statements, and, when they could not keep their eyes open due to extreme drowsiness, the inmates propped up their eyelids with matchsticks. They were only given water and steamed buns for meals until they “transformed.”

We were forced to talk in front of all inmates to profess our willingness to be “transformed.” They videotaped the talks. If anyone refused they would be tortured by five to six male guards right then.

There are no limits or boundaries to the criminal acts the authorities are willing to commit in here. The guards do things for their own benefit or whims. They do not abide by the law; they violate the law on a daily basis. If anyone offends them or do not do things according to their will, they not only punish that person but also the entire group. Whatever happens, we are punished with all the inmates. We were forced to stand under the baking sun for hours, forced to sing CCP songs for long time, forced to learn the rules and regulations by heart, and to sit for long periods of time (one time we were forced to sit from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.). We were forced to write self examinations and speak in front of all the inmates in meetings. Other forms of torture included: no bathroom breaks, running in the field, and performing military drills until they were satisfied. We had to eat whatever was in our bowel, and most of time it was not enough, but when it was too much, we had to finish it no matter what. We were also forced to sing songs after work. We were not allowed to have meals until they were satisfied with our songs. Their violations and abuse were beyond words.

I appeal to all kind people in the world, particularly the kind citizens in mainland China: Pay attention to the inhuman treatment of Falun Gong practitioners who have suffered in Gansu Women's Prison.
