(Clearwisdom.net) About 2:00 p.m. on May 2, 2011, elderly Falun Gong practitioners Shi Qingwen and Yao Guiyun of Shunyi District, Beijing were illegally arrested in their home.

The couple has been arrested many times in the past and they were imprisoned because they practice Falun Gong. In particular, in 2001, agents of the Chinese Communist Party imprisoned Shi Qingwen for four years in Chadian Prison in Tianjin. There, he was physically abused, beaten, and not allowed to rest or use the restroom. He was also locked up in solitary confinement.

On July 18, 2008, eight officers from Guangming Police Station and State Security Police Station in Shunyi District took Shi Qingwen from Miyun District, ransacked his home, and then detained him at Nihe Detention Center in the Shunyi District for two weeks.

Yao Guiyun had been sent to forced labor camps on two previous occasions. On November 15, 2007, more than 10 officers from the Eastern District Xingfu Neighborhood Committee, Guangming Police Station, and State Security Police Station in Shunyi District took her to Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp. She was imprisoned there for two and a half years. She had been home for less than a year prior to this most recent arrest.

Currently, Mr. Shi is at Nihe Detention Center and his wife is at Huairou District Detention Center. Their children are very worried about their safety.
