(Clearwisdom.net) When I read Master's lecture “Fa Teaching Given at the 2010 New York Fa Conference,” the following passage stuck in my head:

“As you know, there is always the question of why there have been so few new Dafa disciples since the persecution started. It is precisely because the old forces locked up the entrance, and thus nobody could enter unless they had an exceptional circumstance or I specifically needed them. That is because, based on the old forces’ logic, the test has already reached its end, and the harshest period has passed; and, having arrived at the persecution’s final stages, the most sinister and treacherous environment posed by the test has already passed, and many of the evil people who were put in place have died. With that sort of evil environment being no more, those who recently entered [Dafa] will have a hard time establishing the mighty virtue that a Dafa disciple is supposed to have, and thus [the old forces] do their utmost to control [who enters].”

I have been a practitioner for almost two years, and believe that I have a great responsibility to uphold. My friends, relatives and work colleagues did not know the facts about the persecution because there were no practitioners around us. The Fa rectification is in its final stage, and sentient beings are eagerly waiting to be saved. So it is most important for practitioners to save them. I came to this city two years ago and obtained the Fa on the Internet. So until recently, I had been practicing alone.

When the persecution started on July 20, 1999, hardly anyone was practicing Falun Gong in the rural area where I live, and there are many people who do not know about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), or even know how to quit.

The persecution began around the same time as the company that I work for just started, and as a result, they succumbed to the CCP's directives and do not employ anyone who holds a belief in Falun Gong. I live in a residential dormitory, and most of the people there have just graduated from university. Some of them are willing to listen to the facts about Falun Gong and want to quit the CCP. There are others who do not believe what I tell them and refuse to quit.

One of my colleagues always says that he does not believe what I say, but he does not believe in the CCP's propaganda, either. However, he still does not want to quit the CCP. When I spoke to him about Falun Gong one day, he became very angry. He yelled at me, “I do not believe you Falun Gong people.” When I asked why, he told me that one of his classmates is a police officer, and that when he went to Taiwan, he was informed that he was placed on a list of perpetrators, because he had participated in the persecution of practitioners in China. When they told him the dates and times of his alleged involvement in the persecution, he started to question the details, because he was not a police officer at that time. Since then, he did not believe what practitioners said. I thought for a while and explained to him, “As your classmate is a police officer, you do not know if he participates in the persecution or not. Even if he did, I don’t think he would tell you. Maybe the information practitioners collected at the time were incorrect. If they noticed it, I am sure they would correct it.”

We checked the information on the Internet to see if this person's name was on the list of those involved in the persecution in Jilin Province. The list was published by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, and we could not find his classmate's name on there. So I said, “Maybe at the time the information was there, but now it has been corrected.”

One of my other colleague lives near me in my hometown and came to our workplace three months after I did. I frequently spoke to him about the persecution, and he believed what I said. But when I asked him if he would like to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations, he said that it was not necessary because he thought that he automatically quit the Youth League because of his age. When I found out that he was leaving the company and going back to our hometown, I was very sad.

We had been in contact with each other for almost two years, but I still failed to help him quit the CCP so that he could have a bright future. I did not want to give up my final chance. On the day he was leaving, I folded a colorful paper lotus and gave it to him. I wished him to be safe as he went on his way and hoped he would quit. He finally agreed, and I was very happy for him.
