(Clearwisdom.net) In January 2011, Yangguanlin Township Police Station in Tangshan City arrested Ms. Deng Xiuyan, a Falun Gong practitioner. Later, six of her relatives and friends were arrested. On June 15, Ms. Deng's husband, Zhang Weizhong, was also arrested. Three of the eight people have been sentenced to one year of forced labor and were taken to a labor camp. Ms. Deng and her husband are still being held in a detention center. Below are the details of their arrests.

At about 9:00 a.m. on January 4, 2011, Li Guoyong, deputy head of Yangguanlin Township, Fenrun Section, Tangshan City; officer Li Guodong; and several other officers climbed over the courtyard wall and broke into Ms. Deng’s home. They took a printer, Dafa books, and other personal belongings. They also arrested her relative, Mr. Xu Zhirong, who happened to be visiting her. Prior to this arrest, the police repeatedly pressured Ms. Deng to sign a guarantee statement that she would not practice Falun Gong. When her family went to the police station the following day to ask for her release, they learned that Ms. Deng and Mr. Xu were in the Fengrun Detention Center

At about 10 a.m. on January 14, the police once again broke into Ms. Deng's home. When her neighbors denounced them for this unlawful act, the police told the neighbors that it was none of their business.

The following day, her family went to the Yangguanlin Police Station to ask why their home had been broken into. The police said that it was the township's decision and had nothing to do with them. On the morning of January 17 when the family went to the Yangguanlin Township government Complaints Office to ask why they had been broken into, the person in the office told them that it would happen again every three to five days.

On February 12, agents from the Yangguanlin Police Station including Wang Chao, Zhang Li, and Wang Ziyong, head of the Xindianzicun public security, went to Ms. Deng's home with an arrest warrant. They told Ms. Deng's mother-in-law to sign a document. When she refused, they grabbed her hand and put her fingerprint on the document.

On the morning of April 4, Ms. Deng's mother-in-law and three other family members went to the Fengrun Public Security Bureau, National Security Brigade, and the 610 Office to ask for her release. No one at any of the agencies would give them a straight answer.

On the morning of May 20, Ms. Deng's friends and relatives again went to the Yangguanlin Police Station to ask for her release. The police detained Zhang Lijun. At noon when Ms. Deng's mother-in-law, Zhang Weiyun, Zhang Baoxiang, and Ye Suping went to the police station with food for Zhang Liping, the police detained them. In the afternoon, Wang Xiuxin, head of the police station, and another officer arrested Jing Shuxiang, who was outside the police station. In the evening, the police released Zhang Weiyun, but five other relatives and friends were taken to the Fengrun Detention Center and illegally detained for 15 days.

On the morning of June 4, the police released Ms. Deng's mother-in-law and Jing Suxiang. Ms. Deng's mother-in-law was sentenced to one year of forced labor to be served outside of the camp. Three other Falun Gong practitioners, Zhang Lijun, Zhang Baoxiang, and Ye Suping, were each sentenced to one year of forced labor. They were to be taken to the labor camp immediately. A family member immediately collapsed upon hearing the news. Other family members argued with the police for over two hours. Then a dozen police officers showed up and took Zhang Lijun, Zhang Baoxiang, and Ye Suping to Kaiping Forced Labor Camp.

On the evening of June 15, the traffic police in Yutian County stopped Ms. Deng's husband, Mr. Zhang Weizhong, when he was on his way home from shipping scrap metal. The police retained his car and fined him for being in possession of scrap copper and expired car insurance. When Mr. Zhang Weizhong returned to the station to pay the fine, the police detained him. When the Yangguanlin police received the information, they came and took him to the Fengrun Detention Center.

At present, Ms. Deng Xiuyan and her husband are still in the Gengrun Detention Center. Their 70-year-old mother and young son are on their own with no source of income.
