(Clearwisdom.net) Zhejiang Province Women's Prison administered psychotropic drugs to persecute Ms. Zhang Xiulian, a Falun Gong practitioner, until her mental state deteriorated.

According to a long term prisoner, "Ms. Zhang Xiulian was a lively and healthy Falun Gong practitioner when she was first locked up. She was persecuted and guarded with a high degree of security, and put in solitary confinement because she was unwilling to compromise and give up her beliefs. She was sent to the Hangzhou City No. 7 People's Hospital, a psychiatric hospital, for almost half a year. Around 2008 she was returned to the prison hospital. Ms. Zhang told everyone that the hospital forced her to take drugs and injected her with drugs that destroy the central nervous system because she refused to stop practicing Falun Gong. They gagged her and prevented her from speaking, and then transferred her from the No. 3 Prison Division to the No. 2 Prison Division, where she is still located.

They continued to force Ms. Zhang to take drugs on a regular schedule. She became incoherent and talked nonsense. She appeared the same as a mental patient. Her surroundings were carefully controlled and she was watched 24 hours a day. Under the pretense of "taking care of her and treating her well" they attempted to transform her. Namely, they wanted her to give up her beliefs against her will.

It has been reported that the Zhejiang Province Women's Prison persecutes practitioners who refuse to give up their belief in Falun Gong by secretly putting drugs in their food and water. The Communist Party prisons utilize all kinds of lies to conceal their actions. When facing questions about the drug abuse, they either aggravate the persecution in a disguised form or deny their actions.

The orders to utilize drugs, according to leaks from the police, originate from the orders of the 610 Office, the illegal organ of the Communist Party specifically set up to persecute Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhang Xiulian is presently at the No. 2 Prison. Those responsible for persecuting her include: Mao Yanhua, a police guard, Li Jing, the Director of the No. 2 Prison and Zhang Yuxin, the Deputy Director of the No. 2 Prison.
