(Clearwisdom.net) Since May 26, 2011, more than ten Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested in Yanji City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province.

Ms. Nie Hong and Ms. Zhang Xiuqin went missing, also on May 26. The local police went to Ms. Nie's home and ransacked it. They confiscated her Dafa books, Dafa-related materials, and other personal items. Ms. Zhang is from Longjing Badao Pingdao Village and has become destitute because of the persecution.

Ms. Zhu Xiyu was secretly put on trial on June 13, 2011.

Ms. Dong Guizhi Homeless and Arrested Again

Ms. Dong Guizhi, in her 50s, had suffered a serious heart attack before practicing Falun Gong. When she was seriously ill, she would occasionally go into shock and wasn't able to go downstairs for a week at a time. After she started to practice Falun Gong, her health improved, her diseases disappeared, and her body became lighter. She could even carry her 80-year-old mother, who was paralyzed after suffering a stroke.

Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Dong has been harassed and persecuted several times only because of her belief. On World Falun Dafa Day, May 13, 2004, Xu Xiaofeng, Xiao Bin, and officers from the Yanji City Domestic Security Division arrested her as she was hanging up a truth clarification banner in Yanji Park. They took her to the Yanji City Detention Center and held her for over a month. She was later sentenced to one year of forced labor. She finally returned home only after her family and relatives put forth much effort to secure her release.

On February 28, 2006, the police arrested Ms. Dong again and detained her in the detention center. She then went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was later released when she became extremely weak. Afterwards, she was forced to leave home and became destitute in order to avoid further persecution.

The Yanbian Region 610 Office still puts her name on its list of practitioners to arrest and persecute. Unfortunately, Ms. Dong was arrested again and is now detained in an unknown place. More details are being investigated.

    Ms. Zhu Xiyu Secretly Tried

Ms. Zhu Xiyu from Yanji City was born in April 1995 and is of Korean ethnicity. She has been illegally arrested more than 30 times and persecuted regularly by officials from the local police station, the Procuratorate, and the 610 Office.

Since January 2011, Ms. Zhu has been arrested several times by officers from the Yanji City Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office. One time they took her to a mental hospital and injected her with an unknown drug. Another time she was taken to a brainwashing center.

On the morning of March 30, 2011, the police arrested her again while she doing the Falun Gong exercises on Jindalai Square. They dragged her to the police car, ripping her pants, and then took her to Dacheng (Fazhan) Brainwashing Center. There, they grabbed her by the hair and pulled her upstairs. As a result, her hair was pulled out. She was also tied to a frame for an hour. Within several days of being tortured, she became emaciated, so they released her. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials let it be known that they were going to sentence her to prison.

Ms. Zhu received a petition of appeal from the Yanji City Procuratorate on May 25, 2011. During that time, she was closely monitored by the CCP even though she was at home.

On June 10, 2011, officials from the Section of Politics and Law broke into her home and arrested her. They took her to Dacheng Brainwashing Center and tried to force her to admit her “mistakes.” If she did, they would sentence her to only three years in prison, otherwise, they would sentence her to seven to eight years. However, if she stopped practicing Falun Gong, they would release her and let her go home.

In the brainwashing center, Ms. Zhu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Three days later, on July 13, 2011, she was tried. While her trial was in session, Ms. Zhu's younger sister called the presiding judge and asked when Ms. Zhu's case was going to be tried. After her sister heard that the trial was in progress, she and Ms. Zhu's husband's eldest brother went to the courthouse.

After the trial was over, Ms. Zhu was released and told to wait at home for the judge's verdict.
