(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties across six provinces. In this report, nine practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 34 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Over Ten Falun Gong Practitioners Illegally Arrested and Tortured in a Brainwashing Center

Since June 2011, agents from the 610 Office have arrested over ten Falun Gong practitioners in the Huaihua area. They were taken to a brainwashing center in Jingping Village, Yingkou Township, in Hecheng District of Huaihua City, and tortured there. The practitioners include Ms. Tan Anju, Ms. Wang Yujie, Ms. Yang Xiuying, Ms. Zhou Huayu, Ms. Yang Ailan, Mr. Yang Guangyan, Ms. Tang Caiqin, Ms. Teng Yun, Ms. Zou Guilian, and Ms. Shu Yueying.

2. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Lanying and Ms. Chen Xiaoyan Arrested

Officers from the Domestic Security Brigade in Kaifa District, Hengshui City, picked up Ms. Liu Lanying and her daughter Ms. Chen Xiaoyan while they were posting Falun Dafa materials on the morning of August 4, 2011. That evening the two practitioners were taken to a detention center.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Dongbiao and Ms. Meng Fanyan Arrested

Police officers arrested Mr. Wang Dongbiao and his wife Ms. Meng Fanyan at their home in Changchun City, on the evening of August 3, 2011. Mr. Wang became ill and was released. Ms. Meng was transferred to the Changchun City Third Detention Center.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Guangcai Illegally Arrested

Mr. Wang Guangcai, 66, was taken from his home in Beijing on July 19, 2011. He is now being detained in the Xiyu District Detention Center.

5. [Shanghai] Mr. Feng Xueji Arrested

Mr. Feng Xueji graduated from Central South University and was a metallographer at the Sany Technology Materials Research Center in Shanghai. Officers from Chuansha Police Station in Shanghai arrested him at work on June 29, 2011. He is now being held in the Pudong District Detention Center.

6. [Aohan, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Wang Xiaohua Arrested

Chen Zhaoxiang, deputy secretary of Xinhui Town, and several others arrested Ms. Wang Xiaohua on August 5, 2011. She is now detained in the Auhan Detention Center.

7. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

On August 4, 2011, someone reported Mr. Li Fujiang, Ms. Wang Xinhua, and Mr. Ma Qingzhen to the police while they were clarifying the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong in Pilishi Village, Shagou Town. Officers from the Shagou Town Police Station arrested them. Officers from Shagou Police Station and Yishui Public Security Bureau went to the three practitioners' homes and carried out illegal searches on August 5.

8. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Lihua Arrested

On the afternoon of August 4, 2011, a person reported Ms. Wang Lihua to the police when she was clarifying the facts of Falun Gong. Officers from the Zhangdian Domestic Security Brigade and the Xiliulu Police Station picked her up. She was detained at the Xiliulu Police Station in Zhangdian. On August 5, the police searched Ms. Wang's house and forced Ms. Wang's husband to pay a 5,000-yuan (US$750) fine before they released her.

9. [Shenzhen, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xue Jun Arrested

Ms. Xue Jun was taken into custody on August 5, 2011, while she was at her son's house in Shenzhen.

10. [Wuhan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Feng Zhen and Mr. Feng Yun Imprisoned

Mr. Feng Zhen and his brother Mr. Feng Yun are currently imprisoned in Qinduankou Prison in Hanyang City.

11. [Chongqing] More Information on Ms. Zhang Yuanzhen's Ilegal Arrest

Ms. Zhang Yuanzhen, from Shimahe, Jiangbei District, Chongqing, was taken to the Tieshanping Brainwashing Center on July 18, 2011. Her husband Mr. Lo Chunji was constantly harassed and threatened by the authorities, and had to leave his home to avoid further persecution.

12. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Mr. Dong Xiangrui and Mr. Li Desheng Taken into Custody

Mr. Dong Xiangrui and Mr. Li Desheng were arrested on the afternoon of August 2, 2011. Mr. Dong was taken to the Shazihe Brainwashing Center in Jilin City and tortured there.

13. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wu Dexiu and Mr. Wang Aiguo Arrested

Mr. Wu Dexiu and Mr. Wang Aiguo were taken to a forced labor camp on August 4, 2011.

14. [Huanghua City, Hebei Province] Additional Information on Mr. Cui Xuewu's Illegal Arrest

Several practitioners drove to Mr. Cui Xuewu's home on August 3, 2011. As soon as they arrived, a group of officers from the Cuikou Town Police Station in Qingyun County surrounded them. Several practitioners escaped, but Mr. Cui Xuewu, Mr. Wang Shenghai, and Ms. Li Jiahong were taken into custody. They are now being unlawfully detained in the Qingyun County Detention Center.

15. [Shanghai] Mr. Chen Jie and Ms. Zhou Lin Arrested

On the evening of July 29, 2011, dozens of officers from the Puxing Police Station in Pudongxin District, and the Pudong Public Security Bureau broke into Mr. Chen Jie and Ms. Zhou Lin's home and arrested the two practitioners. Their whereabouts are still unknown.

16. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] More Information on Ms. Wang Jixiu's Arrest

The police arrested Ms. Wang Jixiu, who is from Mengyin County, on the afternoon of July 20, 2011. Ms. Wang is currently being tortured at the Mengyin County 610 Office Brainwashing Center.

17. [Juye County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Laiyun and Ms. Ma Xiuqin Taken into Custody

On July 23, 2011, the police arrested Mr. Wang Laiyun and Ms. Ma Xiuqin from Juye County as they were clarifying the facts of Falun Gong to others. The two practitioners were taken to the Beicheng Police Station in Juye. That night Mr. Wang suffered from high blood pressure and was released. On July 24, Ms. Ma was taken to the Heze Detention Center and illegally detained.

18. [Chenxi, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Detained in the Huaihua Brainwashing Center

Ms. Tang Yuzhen and Ms. Lei Jinghua from Chenxi went to Ms. Shi Xinhua's home on July 27, 2011. Zeng Yi and other agents from the National Security Brigade picked them up and detained in the county detention center. On August 4, agents from the Chenxi County 610 Office and the National Security Brigade took the practitioners to the Huaihua Brainwashing Center.

19. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Huijing Held in a Detention Center

Ms. Liu Huijing from Tangshan City was arrested on July 29, 2011. She is being held in the Tangshan Detention Center.

20. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Wenjun Tortured in Zhaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp

Officers and agents from the Longtan Public Security Bureau, Domestic Security Brigade, and the Yan'an Police Station arrested Mr. Zhang Wenjun, from Jilin. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Zhaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun and tortured there. His family went to the camp many times to visit him but were denied visitation rights by the camp authority.
