(Clearwisdom.net) In August 2011, Ms. Huang Duohong (from Xiangtan, Hunan Province) went to visit a friend in Changsha and was illegally arrested by local police. She has lost her personal freedom and been held for over 20 days.

Ms. Huang visited Mr. Li Zhigang (who lived in Erli in Furong District, Changsha City) on August 19. Mr. Li was formerly an assistant researcher at the National University of Defense Technology and was fired from his job because he practiced Falun Gong. That same afternoon, Mr. Li took his mother outside for a walk, leaving Ms. Huang alone at his home to rest.

At around 5:00 p.m., Mr. Li and his mother were arrested by police from Chaoyang St. Police Station while on their way home. Officers from the same station had previously tried to arrest Mr. Li and take him to a brainwashing session in July 2011, but their attempt was foiled by strong resistance from Mr. Li and his family. Soon after arresting Mr. Li and his mother, the same police officers went to ransack his house using the key they took from him. They found Ms. Huang in the house, and took her into custody after interrogating her. That night, Mr. Li's mother, who is nearly 70 years old, was released. Ms. Huang and Mr. Li were taken to Laodaohe Brainwashing Center, which was established by Changsha City 610 Office and the local Politics and Law Committee. The brainwashing center is situated in the northern outskirts of Changsha City.

Ms. Huang is in her thirties. After the suppression of Falun Gong began in July 1999, she was sent to Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou, where she was tortured. In September 2002 she was singled out for brutal "transformation," for refusing to renounce her faith. Drug addicts stuffed her mouth with dish rags, viciously slapped her face, and kicked her lower body. Upon her release, she was forced to leave home and has stayed away in recent years to avoid further persecution and harassment by officers in Xiangtan.

After her arrest on August 19, Ms. Huang immediately went on a hunger strike to protest her detention, and requested an unconditional release. There is no information on her present circumstances.
