(Clearwisdom.net) A practitioner from another region once told me how the practitioners in their area used the legal system to clarify the truth to the local people. I was very inspired by their truth-clarification method, and hoped that we could find a way to do the same in our area.
Prior to the Beijing Olympic games, after the police illegally arrested some local fellow practitioners, another practitioner and I went to several places to collect information about the personnel who participated in persecuting these practitioners. We posted their names, phone numbers, and addresses on the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net) so that other practitioners could clarify the truth by calling them or mailing information to them. We also gradually found the family members of the practitioners who were arrested. At that time, a relative of mine who is a practitioner also wanted to clarify the truth to the personnel from the police station, the Procuratorate, and the court, to help rescue one of her family members, who is a practitioner. She was also arrested. We therefore decided to clarify the truth to the people working at the law firm the next day.
It was very cold in winter in northern China. At that time, the temperature was minus 20 degrees Celsius (-4°F). A fellow practitioner and I needed to wait for my relative outside for about an hour. There are many law firms around the courthouse. The three of us visited the law firms one by one. While consulting the attorneys, we told them how Falun Gong practitioners have become better and better people since practicing, and how the brutal Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted them. We also told them how the CCP violated the law, based on relevant cases.
After we talked to each lawyer, we had a brief summary and sharing session. Sometimes I simply kept talking without thinking about whether the lawyers could accept what I said or not. I had developed a bad habit of trying to “educate” other people, rather than having true consideration for others, due to living long-term in an environment influenced by the CCP. Consideration for others needs to be cultivated. I saw my true cultivation state through visiting the law firms.
That night I had a high fever and could hardly sit still in front of my computer, but I needed to put together the information about the personnel from the court and post it on the Minghui website. Meanwhile, I had to write a letter to the judges to clarify the facts to them so that I could mail it the next morning. I worked through the night and finally completed my work the next morning. During the night, my heart wasn't calm, and many human notions emerged. The fellow practitioner who worked with me mentioned that I typed the letter faster than she could, and therefore asked me to put together a list to post on the website. She also mentioned that my handwriting was better than hers, so I should take care of the letter as well. I never liked others bossing me around because I was too attached to myself. This was the time to let go of self.
After sharing with a relative, we decided to hire an attorney to defend my relative, and plead “not guilty.” On the day of the trial, many fellow practitioners spontaneously arrived at the courthouse to send forth righteous thoughts. While defending my relative, the defense attorney did an excellent job. The chief judge said nothing. The bailiff admired the statements made by the defense attorney, and showed the “V” (victory) sign to the people in the gallery. Many people learned the truth in court.
Later when the court was planning the hearings for other practitioners, we again went to the law firms to clarify the truth to attorneys. We brought back the business cards collected from the law firms and asked other practitioners to mail truth-clarifying materials to them. We wrote the follow-up reports of the relevant cases every week and published them on the Minghui website.
After working with fellow practitioners to clarify the truth to lawyers, each time we discussed the results and tried to improve for the next time. A fellow practitioner once told us that we should clarify the truth her way. This upset me, as I felt that the other practitioner clarified the truth according to the Fa, and moreover the lawyer did agree to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. Why did I feel uneasy? Because I still carried human attachments and my heart was not big enough. So I repeatedly read the relevant articles about working with other practitioners that were posted on the Minghui website, and looked within to find my attachments. I finally no longer felt sad, and continuously clarified the truth with the fellow practitioner. With the help of the practitioners inside and outside of China, the five fellow practitioners who were arrested by the authorities were subsequently released one by one.
