(Clearwisdom.net) Some time ago, when I was doing the exercises, I noticed that the hand gesture of Heshi is in each of the five exercise sets except for the second set. The hand gesture is performed before the movements for the third and fourth sets of exercises and it is performed after the movements for the first and fifth sets of exercises. I know that the hand gesture of Heshi conveys the meaning of being respectful and grateful to Master. With this many occurrences of the Heshi hand gestures in the exercises, I enlightened that being grateful to Master is not only showing our gratitude for Master's help, but is also part of the inner meaning of Dafa's boundless principles. It is a requirement for Dafa practitioners to assimilate to Dafa and improve their xinxing. It is a part of the Dafa cultivation mechanism of ascending. In other words, keeping the heart of gratitude to Master is not an issue of attitude but an issue of whether we assimilate to Dafa, whether we have righteous thoughts, and whether we can be diligent and improve our xinxing. It is a requirement that Dafa practitioners must unconditionally meet.

I found during actual cultivation that when some practitioners encountered problems, it was due to not maintaining a heart of consistent and pure gratitude for Master. Sometimes we remember to ask Master for help only when we need it. Then, after our goal is reached we treat the outcome as a result of our own ability and forget, “The cultivation is up to you, gong is up to the master.” (Zhuan Falun), and that it was entirely because of Master's compassionate help. Some practitioners talk to others about it with an attachment of zealotry and showing off. While they say that they remembered to ask Master for help at the critical moment (asking for Master's help is indeed a righteous thought), however everything they talk about is about themselves. They unknowingly amplify their attachments to self and aren't handling well the relationship between Dafa and themselves. The results are obvious. There are practitioners who had been very diligent and later suffered persecution from sickness karma for a long period of time. This could also be one of the main reasons they fail to overcome tribulations for a long time. Master said,

“If you put Dafa in a secondary place and put your supernatural powers in the primary place, or as an enlightened person you believe that what you understand one way or another is correct, or if you even regard yourself as being great and beyond Dafa, I would say that you have already started to stumble. It would be dangerous and you would become ever worse.” (Zhuan Falun)

Recently Master pointed out again in a serious manner:

“...don’t let your human attachments become overly inflated and get out of hand just because you’ve done something or other. The only one who can guide Dafa disciples’ progress is Master.” (“Watch Out for Breeding Demons in One’s Own Mind”)

Being grateful to Master is also conveying true belief in Master and the Fa. In reading the Internet experience sharing articles from practitioners in China, I see that when Dafa practitioners are doing well, it's because they are always grateful to Master from beginning to end, and their every word and action has assimilated to Dafa.

Now every time I do the exercises and make the Heshi hand gesture, my gratitude to Master rises naturally from my heart, accompanied by a profound feeling of sacredness and joy. I feel Master's immeasurable compassion and realize that what I have done is far too little.

The above is my small enlightenment at my current level. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
