Peasant Women from Shandong Province Punished for Talking about the Benefits of Practicing Falun Gong

January 14, 2012 |   By a Clearwisdom correspondent from Shandong Province, China

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Guiyun, in her 50s, is a peasant from Pingdu City, Shandong Province. On December 23, 2011, local police officers went to Ms. Xu's home and ransacked it. The officers deceived Ms. Xu into going to the police station and then forced her to sit on an iron chair. They also beat her and then took her to a hospital to be examined. Ms. Xu was released that night.

The organizations involved in the persecution of Ms. Xu are: the Pingdu City Anti-Cult Division, the 610 Office and Domestic Security Bureau, the Cuijiaji Town Police Station, the Appeals Office, and the Justice Office and Party Committee.

The stated reason for Ms. Xu's arrest was that she told others that she benefited from practicing Falun Gong. Prior to practicing, Ms. Xu had an ulcer, chronic headaches, and a fleshy tumor the size of a goose egg on her left leg. All of her health problems disappeared after she began practicing Falun Gong. Not only she, but also her colleagues and relatives, benefited from Falun Gong. The following are two of Ms. Xu's experiences:

Ms. Xu's colleague, Wang Liang, was formerly employed at the Lijia Village Supply and Marketing Co-op. In 2001, Wang brought her son and her friend's son to Ms. Xu's home. Wang's son was only 10 years old. He had suffered from an incurable illness since he was born, and none the treatments he had been given were effective. When he saw the photo of Falun Gong's Teacher, he exclaimed to his mother, “Master! Master!” His mother asked him, “Good or not?” He replied, “Good. It's not like what the schoolteacher says. Falun Dafa's Teacher is good!” After that, his lifelong illness completely disappeared. He is now attending a military academy.

Ms. Xu's nephew owns a supermarket, and his parents took care of his child while he was working. One day, the child fell down from the second floor, landing in the supermarket below. Many people were present. The nephew drove his child to the local hospital. The local hospital refused to admit the child, so they went to Liaolan Hospital. After a quick exam, they were sent to another hospital. They went to the Pingdu Hospital and were yet again told to instead go to the Qingdao Hospital. The doctor there looked at the child and refused to admit him, afraid that he would die in the hospital. The child's mother said, “If the child dies, I'm not going to live.”

Four hospitals refused to admit the child. The family took the child to Ms. Xu's home, because they knew she practiced Falun Gong. Ms. Xu told the family to sincerely recite “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” They did, and the child was saved.

Ms. Xu told others that she has seen Falun Dafa save two lives. She was arrested and beaten for telling people the facts. The same thing had happened to her three years earlier:

On May 3, 2008, Ms. Xu was discussing work-related things with two engineers in her home. A group of officers from the 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the Chengguan Police Station broke into her home and ransacked it. The officers took Ms. Xu and the engineers to the police station. They released the engineers after learning that they did not practice Falun Gong. They handcuffed Ms. Xu and tied her to an iron chair. Officer Liu Jie and Wang severely beat Ms. Xu. They pushed her down on the floor, then pushed her outside to stand in the rain. They did not offer her any food for five days, nor did they let her use the restroom. Ms. Xu's feet and legs were so swollen she could not climb the stairs. She lost more than 12 pounds in just five days.

The officers first took Ms. Xu to the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao City and then to the Qingdao Brainwashing Center on June 23, 2008. There, they attempted to “transform” her, but Ms. Xu resisted the brainwashing. The officers extorted 3,000 yuan (about $475 USD) from her family and released her on July 23.
