(Clearwisdom.net) Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the Guangshan County 610 Office in Xinyang City, Henan Province, has coerced the local legal system to arrest, detain, subject to forced labor and imprison more than 30 practitioners inside and outside of the county. The authorities have extorted about 300,000 yuan in cash and property from them. Four practitioners are still imprisoned, and three of them have been imprisoned twice.

Mr. Jian Xuefu, 41, a teacher, once suffered from advanced stage liver ascites. After he began practicing Falun Gong in 1998, he recovered his health within three months. He was persecuted by the CCP five times. In early 2006, he went to Beijing to speak out on behalf of Falun Gong and was subsequently sentenced to four years in prison. In September 2008, he was arrested at home by local 610 Office agents. When he was held in the Guangshan Detention Center, he was subjected to brutal tortures, such as beatings, being shocked with electric batons, and sleep deprivation. He was later sentenced to six years in prison and held in Ward No.9 of Xinmi Prison in Zhengzhou City. He was forced to do hard labor more than 15 hours a day and was often physically abused by guards and criminal inmates. When his family visited him, they saw that he was emaciated, and his hair had turned grey.

Mr. Wang Xincheng, 49, a farmer, was arrested in early May 2008 for speaking with people about Falun Gong. The county 610 Office agents made the arrest and had him sentenced him to four years of imprisonment. He is currently in the Xinmi Prison in Zhengzhou City.

Mr. He Yuanlang, 37, was arrested on April 30, 2010. The county court officials secretly sentenced him to four years in prison in March 2011. He was sent to the Ward No.9 of Xinmi Prison. Mr. He was previously sentenced to three years in prison.

Ms. Liu Zezhi, 46, has been persecuted many times for practicing Falun Gong. She was taken to Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City to be held for a year in 2003. On the morning of April 30, 2010, she was arrested as she tried to help an elderly practitioner avoid being attacked by a group of thugs. She was subsequently sentenced to four years of incarceration and sent to the Xinxiang Women's Prison in May 2011.
