(Clearwisdom.net) In September 2011 police in Luoyang City, Henan Province, uncovered a crime where a man held six women hostage in a basement for his sexual enjoyment for more than two years and later killed two of them. When the local journalists tried to publish this story, the police threatened them with a charge of “violating state secrets.” How could this be considered a state secret? After all, the case had already been investigated, and the suspect had already been convicted. As a matter of fact, the authorities should have taken the initiative to share the details of the case with the public so that everyone could reflect on it and deter such crimes in the future. It was shocking that the Luoyang police dared to intimidate the reporters like that.

Of course, this “sex slave” case was eventually reported by different media outlets around the country. But come to think about it, how many more cases involving brutal abuse of victims are being labeled as “classified information” and still occurring without the public being informed?

The past 12 plus years have seen numerous such cases of Falun Gong practitioners subjected to atrocities of various kinds, yet very few people know about their plight. When some crimes are made public, the authorities try everything they can to cover up their crimes and punish those who help spread the truth. The following two examples attest to this sad reality.

The first case concerns Ms. Zhao Jinhua, a practitioner from Zhaojia Village in Zhangxing Town, Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. While working in her peanut crop on September 27, 1999, she was seized by several officers and taken straight to Zhangxing Town Police Station. Gailing Village Party secretary’s son, Fu Wenhui, grabbed her hair and pummeled her with kicks and punches. He then whipped her with a rubber club. Police officer Zhang Hai directed his thugs to crank up the handle of an old-fashioned telephone to generate electricity to shock her. Every time she passed out due to the electric shock, they revived her and continued to shock her until she lost consciousness again. They repeatedly tortured her in this manner about four or five times.

Ms. Zhao died just 10 days after her arrest, at the age of 42. When her older brother got to view her body, he noticed that she was covered with bruises and cuts from the neck down. An autopsy confirmed his observation, and the medical examiner also found blood extravasation on an area about 120 x 60 cm in size. The cause of her death was due to beatings with soft objects.

As the very first tortured-to-death case revealed to the public, Ms. Zhao’s story aroused strong repercussions worldwide.

The moment Ms. Zhao died in a hospital of her torture-induced injuries, Qiu Shanqiang (then Party secretary for Zhaoyuan City), Dong Xibin (then deputy Party secretary of Zhaoyuan City), Jiang Zhongqin (then secretary of the city's Political and Judiciary Committee), and then-police chief Cai Ping began to try to come up with an excuse for her death and soon decided “myocardial infarction” (a heart attack) was going to be the cause of death. In order to prevent the news from spreading, the police and Zhangxing Town Government staff guarded the intersections leading to the hospital and didn’t allow anyone to pass. Deputy Mayor Zhang Guifen rushed to the hospital to direct their operations. The Zhangxing Town Government also stationed people at every possible exit of the town so practitioners could not get out or come into the town. No one was allowed to contact Ms. Zhao’s family.

Despite the authorities’ frantic efforts to cover up their crime, local practitioners still managed to submit the news to the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom). In response, the authorities not only did nothing to punish the murderers, they also spared no effort trying to figure out who had disclosed this “state secret.” They formed 10 special teams, each with at least six members, to shadow the practitioners they suspected. In the end, they arrested close to 100 practitioners and sentenced two of them to forced labor on charges of “interfering with social stability and disclosing state secrets.” (Read the full report at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/5/1/47595.html )

The second case involved Wei Xingyan, a graduate student majoring in “High-pressure Continuous Current Transmission and Simulation Technology” in the Electrical Engineering School of Chongqing University. On May 11, 2003, she was arrested for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong on her campus and was taken to Baihelin Detention Center in the Shapingba District of Chongqing. Two nights later, on May 13, the police instigated two female criminals to strip her, then a vicious policeman raped her in front of several witnesses.

After the news of the rape of Ms. Wei broke, under the directive of the 610 Office, Chongqing University deleted from its website all information related to the “High-pressure Continuous Current Transmission and Simulation Technology” major, and the “Electrical Engineering School” simply turned the introduction of its specialties into blank pages. Moreover, the “Admission Information” turned out to be a page that could not be found. The 610 Office also ordered the university to deny the existence of any student named Wei Xingyan and the existence of her major.

All officers with knowledge of the case were transferred to other positions. Moreover, they arrested a many practitioners who knew about the case and sentenced seven of them—Chen Shumin, Yuan Qiuyan, Li Jian, Yin Yan, Lu Zhengqi, Liu Fanqin, and He Mingli—to from 5-14 years with the charge of disclosing state secrets.

It is apparent how evil the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is when it harbors murderers and rapists and punishes citizens who expose the truth. Very few of the numerous cases involving practitioners have ever received due process or been dealt with justly. All of them are considered state secrets and at the total discretion of the CCP. This also includes those CCP-staged cases (such as the Tiananmen “self-immolation” incident) that slander Falun Gong. Very few people ever learn the facts of the staged cases.

When the CCP labels its crimes “state secrets,” it deprives the citizens of their right to know the truth and, at the same time, is involved in criminal behavior. Only an evil regime would do such a thing to cover up its crimes! The CCP is terrorizing the Chinese people and is a terrorist in itself.
