(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Yan Xiaoyue and her husband Xia Dong from Jiulongpo District, Chongqing, were arrested by officers from the Jiulongpo 610 Office, the Jiulongpo Domestic Security Division, and the Baguocheng Police Station on August 11, and in November 2010, respectively. Their home was ransacked, and the police took away their computer, printer, DVDs, Falun Dafa books, and several thousand yuan in cash.
The couple was sent to forced labor camps for one-year terms. Mr. Xia was detained in the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp, while his wife Ms. Yan was held in the Shimahe Forced Labor Camp. Recently, when their terms had supposedly ended, the couple was transferred from the forced labor camps back to the Huayan Detention Center. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel said that the couple would be sentenced further. It was said that Ms. Yan Xiaoyue had been sentenced to two years in prison and is still being detained in the Huayan Detention Center.
After practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Xia Dong changed his nasty temper and learned to be considerate of others during conflicts. Ms. Yan Xiaojue also changed her unruly temper and became more kindhearted. The illnesses that she suffered from before had disappeared. She talked to people about Falun Gong by using her personal experience as examples.
The couple's families and friends went to the Baguocheng Police Station in Jiulongpo District to inquire about the couple's situation. The police told them not to come back again, or the couple's persecution would get more severe. When their families asked who had arrested them, a police officer claimed responsibility, but refused to disclose his name, telephone number, or police identification number.
The couple's families and friends said that they would not give up their support of Mr. Xiao Dong and his wife Yan Xiaoyue, and that they would continue to seek justice.
