(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties throughout 11 provinces. In this report, 25 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 29 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Yaxia Persecuted
Ms. Chen Yaxia and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Xijiao Police Station in Taihe District, Jinzhou City for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong in Bajiazi Village, Taihe District, Jinzhou City on the afternoon of December 25, 2011. The police violently beat the practitioners on their faces, heads, and chests during the arrest. In the detention center, they were violently attacked again. They were released after being held for 15 days and after their families were extorted out of 7,000 yuan each.

Agents from the Fengcheng City Political and Judiciary Committee and the Baoshan Town Government went to Ms. Ju Fengying's home at Daijia Village, Baoshan Town and Ms. Shi Jingmei's and Ms. He Conglan's homes in Zhaojia Village and harassed them. The agents confiscated their Minghui Weekly Magazines and DVDs.
3. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Shengze Taken to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Gao Shengze from Ningyuan Town, Bin County was sentenced to one year of forced labor and was taken to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province.
4. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yang Derong, Mr. Han Guohua and Ms. Guo Shuhong Taken to Qianguo County Detention Center
Mr. Yang Derong, Mr. Han Guohua and Ms. Guo Shuhong from Songyuan City were arrested by officers from the Zhenjiao Police Department in Qianguo County for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong in a suburban area on the afternoon of January 11, 2012. They are now being held in the Qianguo County Detention Center.
5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Guizhi, Ms. Zhang Xiuying and Ms. Yang Xiufen Scheduled to Be Tried in Court
Ms. Zhang Guizhi, Ms. Zhang Xiuying and Ms. Yang Xiufen from Tonghe County, Harbin City are being held in Yaziquan, Harbin. They were to be tried in Liming Chamber, Xiangfang Court of Harbin on the morning of January 13, 2012.
6. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Chen Xuesheng and Ms. Li Hui Taken to City Detention Center
Ms. Chen Xuesheng, about 60 years old, is a retired employee of Anyang City Soap Factory. Ms. Li Hui, in her 50s, is a retired employee from a Housing Station of the Anyang City Housing Administration. Ms. Chen and Ms. Li were taken to the City Detention Center around November 27, 2011 for handing out calendars and materials about Falun Gong in a rural area. Their homes were later ransacked.
7. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Lianjun on Hunger Strike for a Month
Ms. Sun Lianjun from Huludao City has been on a hunger strike for a month to protest the persecution suffered in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Her body has become swollen as a result and she needs support in order to walk.
8. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ju Changtian and Two Other Practitioners Harassed
Li Delong from the Judicial Station and Dai Guangxu from the Comprehensive Management Office in Shalizhai Town, Fengcheng City harassed Mr. Ju Changtian and two other practitioners at their homes on the morning of January 9, 2012.
9. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Mr. Liu Xinping Held in Jiaonan Prison
Mr. Liu Xinping from Boai County, Jiaozuo City were arrested at work by agents from the Jiaozuo 610 Office and the Boai 610 Office on January 6, 2012. He is now being held in the Jiaonan Prison.

Ms. Zhang Defen from Zhenxi, Weiyuan County, Neijiang City was arrested on January 8, 2012 and her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Wang Yuluan from Anping County, who has a serious disability, is currently held in the Hengshui City Detention Center. The Hengshui City Intermediate People's Court has sentenced her to seven years in prison.

12. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Mr. Shu Anqing and Others
Wang Jihua from the Longmatan District Domestic Security Division in Luzhou; Fu Xu, deputy director from the Gulin Police Department; Zhang Xianwen, chief of the Domestic Security Division and Qin Hong from the Domestic Security arrested Mr. Shu Anqing and Ms. Hu Fangxiu from Longmatan District, and Mr. Luo Zhenggui and Ms. Zhang Ziqin from Gulin on November 10, 2011, in Yutang Town, Longmatan District, Luzhou. Mr. Shu Anqing and Mr. Luo Zhenggui are now being held in the Gulin Detention Center. Ms. Zhang Ziqing is being held in the Luzhou Detention Center. Ms. Hu Fangxiu was released as she developed severe illness symptoms while being taken to a forced labor camp.
Mr. Wang Huai from Gulin has been held several extra months over his original term in the Gulin Detention Center.

13. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yang Zhanjiu and His Family Persecuted
Mr. Yang Zhanjiu from Yushu City was arrested in August, 2002 and was severely tortured in the Yushu City Detention Center. In March, 2004, Mr. Yang was sentenced to seven years in prison. He was again severely tortured in the Shiling Prison of Siping, which resulted in his legs and feet becoming disabled. Mr. Yang was released on August 29, 2009. His legs and feet still haven't recovered. He has difficulty moving and he cannot take care of his daily needs.
Mr. Yang's wife Ms. Li Shuhua was taken to the Yushu Detention Center on September 24, 2003. She died from torture after being held for 14 day in the detention center, when she was only 32 years old. Ms. Li's mother Ms. Cui Zhanyun was arrested at home on November 15, 2011 by six or seven agents from the Yushu Domestic Security Division and Neighborhood Committee, who had tricked her into opening the door for them. Ms. Cui Zhanyun had been sent to forced labor camp twice and was arrested multiple times prior to the labor camp terms.
14. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Sufang and Ms. Cui Xiulian Released
Ms. Zhang Sufang and Ms. Cui Xiulian from Anshan City were reported for talking about Falun Gong on January 5, 2012. They were arrested by officers stationed at the Youhao Police Station of the Anshan Police Department, Lishan Branch, and taken to the Anshan 1st Detention Center the same day. They failed the physical examination. As a result, they were released after each of their families was extorted out of 10,000 yuan.
15. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Liu Suying Arrested
Ms. Liu Suying from Taiyuan City was arrested by officers from the local Huifeng Criminal Police Group while handing out Shen Yun DVDs to students on January 8, 2012. She is now being held in the Taiyuan 1st Detention Center.
16. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Ms. Feng Jianhua Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Feng Jianhua from Xuchang City, 40 years old, was sentenced to three years in prison by the Weidu District Court of Xuchang at the end of December 2011. She has been sent to the Xinxiang Woman's Prison of Henan.
Ms. Feng was arrested in April 2011 for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to the public, and was held in the Xuchang Detention Center.
17. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Ms. Bai Hongmin Transferred to Pingdingshan Prison
Ms. Bai Hongmin from Xuchang City was transferred to the Pingdingshan Prison at the end of December 2011 where she has been holding a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
Eight or nine officers from the Domestic Security Division of Xuchang City Police Department broke into Mr. Bai's home and arrested her on the morning of June 27, 2011. The Weidu District Court of Xuchang tried Ms. Bai in secret at the end of November 2011. Ms. Bai has appealed to the higher court.
18. [Beijing] Mr. Fu Jiangying Passed Away after Suffering from Mental Disorders Caused by Persecution
Mr. Fu Jiangying, a former employee of the Central Propaganda Department, was arrested in Beijing in 2007 and sent to forced labor camp. The brutal persecution he endured caused him to suffer a mental collapse and long-term mental disorders. He was taken back to his home in Changzhi in 2009 and lived under surveillance. Mr. Fu passed away on January 1, 2012, just 40 years old.

Ms. Lin from Weihai City and her husband, who is about 70 years old, were arrested by two agents dressed in the uniform of the armed police unit on the morning of January 13, 2012 while clarifying the facts about Falun Gong at Laihai Market, Zhang Village, Weihai.
21. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Huiqin Held in Erzhigou Detention Center in Dongxihu
Ms. Jiang Huiqin from Huangpi District, Wuhan was reported for clarifying facts about Falun Gong and arrested by officers from the Tianhejie Police Department in Huangpo District on January 5, 2012. She is now being held in the Erzhigou Detention Center in Dongxihu, Wuhan.
22. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Shuhua and Another Practitioner Arrested
Mr. Wang Shuhua and another practitioner from the district of Changchun City Automobile Factory were arrested at home by officers from the Police Department of the Changchun Automobile Factory Branch on January 9, 2012.
23. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yinghua Arrested
Ms. Li Yinghua from Changtu County was arrested by five or six officers from the Simiancheng Police Department for clarifying facts about Falun Gong in Simiancheng Town on January 6, 2012. She was taken to the Tieling Detention Center the same evening.

24. [Shihezi, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Ms. Lian Xiuli Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Ms. Lian Xiuli from Shihezi was turned in for clarifying facts about Falun Gong on August 31, 2011. She was tried on December 9, 2012. The verdict was issued on January 3, 2012 and she was sentenced to four years in prison.
25. [Dongning County, Heilongjiang Province] Multiple Practitioners Arrested and Homes Ransacked
Seven practitioners from Dongning County were arrested on the evening of January 9, 2012. The homes of Mr. Cao Hongbo, Ms. Lu Yulan, Mr. Wang Xihe and Mr. Liang Junzhi were ransacked on the morning of January 10, 2012. Four male practitioners are now being held in the Dongning Detention Center. The whereabouts of three female practitioners are unknown.

26. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Mr. Zhou Bingzhong, Ms. Wang Lanying and Ms. Wang Shuhua
Mr. Zhou Bingzhong from Changchun was turned in and arrested for handing out materials about Falun Gong in Taiping Town, Shuangyang District on December 26, 2011.
Ms. Wang Lanying from Wanshun, Changchun is now being held in the 2nd Team's unit of the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. She was locked in solitary confinement and family visits were not allowed.
Ms. Wang Shuhua from the 54th Block, District of Changchun Automobile factory, Changchun was arrested at home by an officer from the Police Department of the Changchun Automobile Factory Branch on the afternoon of January 9, 2012. The officer confiscated two laser printers, two ink-jet printers, two laptop computers and Falun Gong books. Ms. Wang is now being held in the Changchun 3rd Detention Center.
27. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information about the Persecution of Ms. Qi Yaoru and Her Family
Twenty-four officers from the Xiangfang Branch Police Department and the Liushun Police Station broke into Ms. Qi Yaru's home using a master-key and arrested her husband and her son on December 31, 2011. They then took the husband and son and went to Ms. Qi Yaru's sister's home in Wuzhan Town, Zhaodong City and arrested Ms. Qi Yaru and her daughter Ms. Wang Shiyuan. Ms. Qi's home was ransacked and many items including a phone were confiscated. Mr. Qi's daughter Ms. Wang Shiyuan was released.
Ms. Qi's family went to Yaziquan and requested a visit on the afternoon of January 10, 2012. However, they were not able to see Ms. Qi.
