(Minghui.org) I grew up listening to my grandma singing songs composed by Dafa disciples. I often sang along loudly, without worrying about being overheard. We would sing all the way to our destination every time we went to visit relatives.

Singing Dafa songs certainly opened up my voice, so my mom decided to get me some formal training.

My voice teacher was delighted to see that I was able to follow her rhythm without trouble. She just needed to play the song once, and I'd be able to sing to the tune. Not long afterwards, she recommended that I enter a singing competition held in our district.

I won first place in my first-ever competition, which caused quite a stir in my school and among my family and friends.

The following summer was the most fruitful time of my singing life. I passed the highest level of music education competency test with flying colors, before winning three gold medals in three different talent competitions, one after another.

My aunt asked me with surprise, “I bet you must have received Buddha's blessings!” I replied happily, “My Master gave me all that I have.”

Before Children's Day last year, my teacher asked me to fill out a form to join the Young Pioneers. I tore it up as soon as she turned around. There was no way I was going to put that blood-stained fabric around my neck. [editor's note: Young Pioneers members are required to wear a red scarf.]

I refused to open my mouth during a music class last semester because it was a song praising the Chinese Communist Party. The teacher got mad, but I insisted on not singing the song. My mom had a talk with the music teacher later, telling her how my dad (a Falun Gong practitioner) died from police brutality and how he had advised us to never join any CCP organizations.

This teacher agreed to have me pick my own songs for daily practice and singing competitions.

When I saw a song being played on the piano containing the words “Young Pioneer,” I told my piano teacher that I was not a young pioneer and I did not want to play the song. She didn't think it was a big deal and asked me to start playing. My mom, who accompanied me to my piano lesson, jumped in to explain my objection and advised her not to teach children any political songs.

I never fight with anyone at school and am well-liked by students and teachers. People often comment that I'm a well-mannered kid, which is not surprising given that I'm a little Dafa disciple.

I know that Falun Dafa is good, and I am aware that I cannot do anything against the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

I don't know how to thank Master for all that He has given me. I can only say, “Thank you, Master!”
