(Minghui.org) Since the persecution started and people have been clarifying the truth, more and more of the world's people have felt disgust about the Chinese Communist Party's evil deeds. China's judicial system is not like any other in the world; in fact, it is the complete reverse of a truly just system.
More and more lawyers in China are now choosing to stand up and defend Falun Gong practitioners through legal means. They are not intimidated by judges who violate the law.
Dr. Zeng Xiaotu, 45, practices medicine at No. 2 Hospital in Zhangshu City, Jiangxi Province. As he was preparing to display a sign about Falun Gong in the town of Cenyang, someone reported him to authorities. The Hengfeng police arrested him at his hospital on October 25, 2013.
At the Hengfeng Detention Center he was tortured during interrogation. The “tiger-bench” torture left scars on both wrists and he lost feeling in both hands.

Dr. Zeng's court hearing was scheduled at the Hengfeng County Court on June 23, 2014. Before the trial, the presiding judge bullied the doctor's attorney. “Do you realize the consequences of defending this man? If you lose, you will face serious consequences.”
The prosecutor threatened Dr. Zeng. “If you do not cooperate with us, we will have you sentenced to three to five years in jail!”
Attorney Committed to Defending His Client
During the trial, the presiding judge interrupted the defense attorney many times. The interruptions were unreasonable and not according to normal judicial protocol. Dr. Zeng's attorney, however, ignored the bullying and remained committed to defending his client.
He stated, “My client was interrogated using torture while he was detained, and this left scars on both of his wrists. The indictment claimed that my client has been making thousands of Falun Gong signs and displaying them everywhere in the area. First, he never made thousands; secondly, even if he did this, it is expressing his personal belief and is not a crime.”
Before the court adjourned, Dr. Zeng's attorney again affirmed his client's innocence.
Dr. Zeng also affirmed his own innocence. “I am innocent. I did not commit any crime.”
Prosecutor He Yijian shouted in the courtroom. “The defendant should be sentenced to five to seven years in jail—at least three to five years!”
Standing Up for Falun Dafa
The courtroom heard a voice coming from the public gallery. “The world needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance! The good people who abide by these principles did not do anything wrong!”
A court marshal shouted, “Who is shouting? If you do it again, you will be removed!”
An elderly lady stood up and spoke in a dignified manner. “Treat Dafa and Falun Gong practitioners kindly and Heaven will bless you!”
The courtroom turned completely silent. The righteous energy field shocked the evil.
When the hearing ended, people heard these words outside the courtroom. “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!”
People could even hear police talking among themselves in low voices. “Falun Gong is really something!”
