The Chinese Communist Party began its campaign to eradicate Falun Gong in China in 1999. Since that time, incidents of Party-sponsored harassment have spilled over China's borders on a regular basis to Australia, the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, Hong Kong, Korea, Slovakia, and now to the Czech Republic.
