(Minghui.org) Mr. Lu Yuanfeng, a 60-year-old farmer from Liaoning Province, was arrested on November 19, 2014, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.
The police ransacked Mr. Lu's home and took him to the Dadong District Detention Center. After being detained for over five months, his case has recently been accepted by the Second Division of the Dadong District Court.
The only evidence against Mr. Lu were several Falun Gong flyers and the sentence statement from a prior labor camp imprisonment.
Monitored and Repeatedly Harassed
Mr. Lu began practicing Falun Gong in 1996, and followed the Falun Gong principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in his daily life.
After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, he was imprisoned in a forced labor camp for practicing Falun Gong, where he was tortured. Despite his ordeal he always tells people that Falun Gong is good.
After the onset of the persecution his family was monitored and repeatedly harassed by police and community officers. His daughter-in-law divorced his son due to the constant pressure.
Mr. Lu's land was confiscated and given to others, and he received only a pittance for it. Due to an injury, he qualified for low-income benefits, but he did not accept them. He and his wive live on income from odd jobs.
