(Minghui.org) Mayor of Ottawa Jim Watson proclaimed May 13, 2015, "Falun Dafa Day," following a tradition of former mayors since 2001.
In both English and French, the proclamation states:
WHEREAS, Falun Dafa practitioners follow the principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance and incorporate them into their daily lives, striving to become better people in all environments and situations; and
WHEREAS, Falun Dafa practitioners in Ottawa and worldwide are joyously celebrating the 23rd anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public during May 2015; and
WHEREAS, transcending the racial and cultural boundaries, Falun Dafa embraces people of all ages, from all walks of life and religious affiliations; and
WHEREAS, Falun Dafa practitioners and citizens in Ottawa will celebrate Falun Dafa Day with dancing, singing and musical band performances and other festivities;
THEREFORE, I, Jim Watson, Mayor of the City of Ottawa, do hereby proclaim May 13th, 2015 Falun Dafa Day in Ottawa.
