(Minghui.org) Mr. Si Menggang's family recently received a notice from the Linfen City Court in Shandong Province, which was dated March 26, 2015. They were told that Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Si had been illegally sentenced to three and a half years in prison. He is being held in the Shandong Provence Prison. His family lost contact with him around October 2014, when he was working odd jobs in Shandong Province. He left home and went to Shandong after he was persecuted in a labor camp a few years earlier.

Mr. Si is from Dongguan Village, Wuji County, in Hebei Province. He worked as a school principal in Shenze County. In the 1990's, he lost consciousness and became incontinent as a result of a brain hemorrhage. He fully recovered after practicing Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa), and was living a healthy and happy life.

Jiang Zemin and his group launched the unprecedented brutal persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Mr. Si told people about how amazing Falun Dafa was by relating his personal experiences, so that others could benefit, and exposed the lies spread by the Chinese Communist Party to defame the practice. His home was repeatedly ransacked, and he was detained and sentenced several times.

His wife divorced him. He was detained in August 2002.

Yang Lumin, head of the Chengguan Town 610 Office, led several people from the town government, the Chengguan Police Station, and the Dongguan Village Committee, to the homes of several Falun Gong practitioners on April 4, 2008, based on a blacklist they had compiled. The officers asked the practitioners as soon as they got into the door, “Are you still practicing Falun Gong?” If the answer was “Yes,” the officers started ransacking the practitioners' homes right away, turning the places upside down. They confiscated 4,800 yuan in cash from Mr. Si's home. One practitioner managed to escape. The officers were furious and they arrested family members who were not practitioners.

Mr. Si was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor and taken to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province on April 18, 2008.
