(Minghui.org) In a mountainous area in our city is a town with over 80 Falun Gong practitioners. After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, the director of the 610 Office in that town did a lot of bad things to those practitioners.

Several of the director’s relatives practiced Falun Gong, and he asked his wife to help try to brainwash them in a brainwashing session. He wanted her to convince them to give up Falun Gong.

His wife stayed with the practitioners for a few weeks and realized how honest and thoughtful they all were. She even became good friends with them. She soon asked her husband to quit his job, and she never went back to try to brainwash the practitioners.

The director reflected on his experiences with the practitioners and realized that they were different from most other people, that they had high moral standards and were truly kind and caring. Seeing their heartfelt determination to defend their right to practice Falun Gong, he admitted to himself, “Only Falun Gong, with its high moral standards, can produce such good people.”

After realizing this, the director decided to treat practitioners kindly. He even asked his wife to go to their homes to apologize to them. He asked the practitioners not to blame him, since he had been forced to do what he had done. He resigned as the director of the 610 Office.

He also repeatedly invited practitioners to his home to eat. If they didn't come, he would say, “Won't you forgive me? I am truly repentant. I won't do that again even if it means I end up without a job.”

Police in a Mountainous Area: ‘Falun Gong Is So Great’

In early December 2009, another practitioner and I went to a remote mountainous area to distribute Falun Gong materials. While we were there, someone reported us to the police. Several police cars set up a road block and caught us.

While we were in the police station, we sent forth righteous thoughts and recited Lunyu and Hong Yin. The police there had heard and seen the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) propaganda that slandered Falun Gong, but they had never met any Falun Gong practitioners in person.

Since they didn't know the truth about the persecution, we explained it to them and asked them to quit the CCP. We told them that Falun Gong is the Buddha Law and that it brought honor to China to have Falun Gong practiced all over the world.

The more I talked, the stronger my voice became. I wanted to let even the people outside hear me, and more and more people gathered around. One officer said, “What do you do? How come you are so good at speaking? In my opinion you could be the Party secretary of the city.”

Another officer said, “If you keep talking, I will want to practice Falun Gong, too.”

The police chief said, “If I had known that Falun Gong was so good, I wouldn't have called the domestic security team on you two. Now they are on the way here. How about if we just let you leave?”

I said, “But we haven't eaten yet.”

An officer replied, “There is no more food here. I'll order some noodles for you.”

And when the officers from the domestic security team arrived to take us away, three officers from the police station encouraged us to help the domestic security team quit the Party too.

The police chief bought two cartons of cigarettes for the domestic security team officers as a gift and asked them to treat us kindly. He escorted us in person all the way to the detention center. He told my husband, “You should go and find someone who can help get her out. Your wife is famous in our city now.”

I smiled to see the kindness in his heart toward Falun Gong practitioners.
