(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Huang Yanzhi from Jiedong County, Guangdong Province, was arrested in July 2016. In the January trial, her lawyer pleaded not guilty. On March 13, local law enforcement released her.

The whole sequence began with a mass arrest.

Twenty Falun Gong practitioners were arrested by dozens of armed policemen on February 24, 2016, when they visited a practitioner in Jiedong County. While most of them were released the next day, four, including Yang Zhuangkai and Xu Ruiping, were jailed.

The Jiedong county court scheduled an open trial for these four jailed practitioners on July 19.

Huang Yanzhi and another practitioner Wu Yueyin passed out invitation letters, inviting local residents to the trial. They too were both arrested on July 19.

Wu Yueyin was released in September, after being jailed for two months.

On January 17, the Jiedong county court conducted a trial for Huang Yanzhi. The judges found no evidence against Huang. She is home now.

Although several arrested practitioners in different areas were found not guilty and released in 2017, the persecution of Falun Gong continues, and the official policy of persecution remains unchanged.
