(Minghui.org) When I talked with other practitioners recently, one said that we should not force ourselves to do things. He said, “Other practitioners did something well because their xinxing level was high. If a practitioner feels that their xinxing is not high enough, just take it easy and wait until you are ready.”
He gave the example of filing criminal complaints against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. He said that we should not do it if we are not ready. Otherwise, filing a complaint may bring us trouble.
I felt uneasy when I heard this, but I did not know what to say. I mentioned it to another practitioner today and we talked about our understandings. She said the same thing. This made me think further and I noticed the attachments behind this statement.
In Hong Yin, Master wrote,
“Solid Cultivation
Study the Fa and gain the Fa,Focus on how you study and cultivate,Let each and every thingbe measured against the Fa.Only then, with that,is it actually cultivation.”
In my understanding, my Master does not expect us to go to extremes and force ourselves. Instead, we should let go of human notions and do the best we can. The mentality of “waiting until you are ready” is like slacking off in cultivation and making excuses for not doing what we should.
When the suppression of Falun Dafa started in 1999, suppose the number of practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal was not 10,000, but one million, or even 10 million. Wouldn't our righteous thoughts have stopped the persecution a long time ago? Suppose the number of criminal complaints against Jiang is not 200,000, but one million or 20 million, wouldn't our joint efforts and righteous thoughts have brought the persecution to an end?
Many opportunities have come and gone. If we don't realize that we are slacking off and instead wait until our cultivation state improves, then how can we fulfill our responsibilities? Many of us have been practicing for a long time and from the Fa we know what to do. When we really calm down and consider things based on the Fa, we will know what to do and how to save sentient beings.
In fact, tribulations often occur because we are not diligent enough. When this happens, we should catch up and do well.
I would like to share Master's words in, “A Congratulatory Message to the European Fa Conference”, “Let go of your attachments that are too many and too strong, and walk well your own path—this process is your way.”
