(Minghui.org) An elderly couple was at home on December 20, 2016, when security officers from the husband’s place of employment showed up with the police. Without showing any IDs or search warrant, the six uninvited visitors turned the home upside down.
Mr. Zhou Xikun, an employee of Wuhan University in Hubei Province, was targeted because he refused to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. His wife didn’t intervene when the police finished ransacking the home and demanded that her husband visit the police station, because one of the officer promised to bring him back in just a few hours.
Mr. Zhou never returned home. His wife and son went to Wuhan University and their local police station the next day to ask where he was. No one gave them any useful information.
The mother and son received a phone call from Hongshan Detention Center days later, asking them to send in Mr. Zhou’s medication. Only then did they learn where he was being detained.
They immediately hired a lawyer to seek Mr. Zhou’s release. The lawyer learned from Mr. Zhou that someone presented some paperwork for him to sign when he was first brought in to the detention center. Mr. Zhou said he didn’t understand what the paperwork was about.
Officer He Aimin, who is in charge of Mr. Zhou’s case, has so far refused to meet with the lawyer.
