(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhao Xiuzhen, 73, and Ms. Liu Ximei, 65, were reported for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Wujiang Park on May 11, 2017. They were arrested by officers from the Songling Police Station, Wujiang District.

Ordeal of Ms. Zhao and Family

Ms. Zhao lives with her son and daughter-in-law, and operate a small workshop in their home. Police officers broke into their home at 4:00 p.m and held the family and their employees in a room upstairs without presenting a warrant.

After a search warrant was issued, the officers confiscated Falun Gong informational materials, two laptop computers, and 14 Falun Gong books. They also took video surveillance equipment used for security.

The officers took Ms. Zhao's son and daughter-in-law to the police station that night. The daughter-in-law observed that the officers interrogated her mother-in-law several times, and treated her husband like a prisoner. The officers asked him to hand over all personal possessions, and he was subjected to a pat-down.

The officers asked the daughter-in-law to untie her hair and body-searched her. It was a cold and rainy night. The room was also air-conditioned, and she was wearing only a short-sleeved shirt.

One of the officers pointed to an iron cage used for locking up criminals and said to her, “You can sit in there and cover yourself with a quilt, we won’t lock it up.”

The police asked her whether she practiced Falun Gong, and if she was is in good health. They also wanted to know if her mother-in-law was engaged in terrorist activities.

She replied, “I won't say if I am still practicing. Practicing Falun Gong is good for health, and I believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It does not violate any law.”

The daughter-in-law asked for the officer's name, but he did not give it. She then signed and fingerprinted the interrogation transcript.

After her release, she learned that Ms. Zhao was taken to the Wujiang Detention Center on the evening of May 13, after 48 hours of interrogation.

During the interrogation, the officers told Ms. Zhao that she could go home as long as she provided them with all the information they wanted.

Ms. Zhao's family received a criminal detention notice. The officers also threatened to take her case to the Procuratorate and sentence her to prison.
