Falun Dafa Practitioner Cao Fazhen of Yuanshi County, Hebei Province Dies From Abuse

(Clearwisdom.net) Cao Fazhen was a 56 year-old male Falun Gong practitioner from Macen Village, Heishuihe Sub-division of Yuanshi County, Hebei Province. Cao was arbitrarily taken from his home and arrested on December 21st, 2000; he was illegally detained in the Yuanshi County Detention Center. On September 26th, 2001, around 2:20 pm, Cao Fazhen suddenly lost consciousness and fell into a deep coma. Although he was at death's door, the head of the Custodial Center, Dong Wenyan, didn't take his condition seriously; it was 8:00 pm before Dong finally let Cao's family take him home. Before that, no emergency treatments were performed for Cao Fazhen. Cao died 2 days after he returned home.

The head of the Detention Center, Dong Wenyan, was fully responsible for Cao's death. Dong closely follows the directives of Jiang Zemin's gang of scoundrels. During his term as the Director of the County Subdivision Police Station, he used all his energy to persecute Falun Dafa disciples. After he was promoted to the head of the Detention Center, he intensified his efforts and tried all kinds of ways to torture Falun Gong practitioners. Each day, each practitioner's meal consisted of only five very small steamed buns, two rotten vegetables, and some cold water with salt. And although the meals cost less than 1 RMB Yuan [Chinese currency unit], Dong charged each person 10 Yuan every day.

To date, there have been 26 Falun Gong practitioners with detentions terms that have been extended beyond the maximum 15-day term; the longest has exceeded 15 months. Almost every practitioner has, to some degree, suffered from dysentery under the constant physical and mental mistreatment; some have diarrhea many times a day and become very weak as a result. Practitioners who protest their illegal detention are electrically shocked and tied with ropes, with one hand going up from the lower back and the other hand coming down from the shoulder (a position that can cause severe pain). Cao Fazhen died after suffering in such a dreadful environment for nine months.

We call upon all people with a sense of justice to condemn this kind of vicious killing in the Yuanshi County Detention Center. Please, forbid these kinds of incidents from happening again. Express your righteous concern for those Dafa practitioners who are still illegally detained in the Yuanshi County Detention Center and lend your righteous voice and support the victim's family members. Help bring these killers into the court of history--let them each pay the price of murder!
