Another Young Woman, Li Jing from Changchun City, Jilin Province Dies in Police Custody
(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, the police of Heilongjiang Province's
Railway Bureau abducted female Falun Gong practitioner Li Jing, and she died
while in police custody. Here is what we know so far:
Li Jing, female, was a 25-year-old student of Jilin Province's Professional
Business College who had been detained many times for going to Beijing to
appeal. In November 1999, personnel from the Changchun City Public Security
Bureau sent her to a labor camp to serve a three-year term, but released her
prematurely this year. On October 11, as Changchun City policemen Li Haifeng and
Li Zhuji from Xi'an Square Police Station were escorting her by train from
Qiqihar City in Heilongjiang Province to Changchun City in Jilin Province, her young life ended at
a location 80 kilometers [about 50 miles] from Qiqihar City.
Police claimed that Li Jing died from jumping out of the train. Details are
under investigation. On October 3, 2001 Minghui Net [English translation on Clearwisdom Net: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/10/8/14537.html] reported that two Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death in the 3rd Detention Center of Changchun City's Police Department [Jilin Province]. It has been verified that one of the practitioners is Yang Yan, female, 62 years old. She was illegally imprisoned more than seven months. When she died her body was covered with countless wounds. Police were present and did surveillance when her family member cremated her body. The police threatened another family member when that person went to the detention center to get the ash remains. The police are still trying to block the news.
