Practitioner Zhou Yong from Chengdu, Sichuan Province Dies after Police Mistreatment

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhou Yong, a 34-year-old man, was a recent victim of the persecution against Falun Gong in China. Before the persecution, Zhou was a technical lead in the Chengdu City Factory of Air Compression Machinery. He was also the Secretary of the Communist Youth League of the factory workshop.

After the persecution against Falun Gong started in 1999, Zhou continued to practice Falun Gong despite all kinds of pressures. He was active in explaining the truth of Falun Gong to the leaders and colleagues in the factory. Every time around a national holiday or a politically "sensitive" day, the police station, the security department of his factory and the Street Residence Committee would all repeatedly send people to "talk" to him, trying to force him to guarantee not to appeal for Falun Gong, not to contact other practitioners, and not to tell people about Falun Gong. Zhou never complied. He believed that by safeguarding truth and believing in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, he was precisely being responsible to other people and society. He was not harmful to anyone, let alone violating laws. He showed genuine kindness through clarifying the truth to people, clearing out the lies from people's minds and saving people.

On September 29, 2001, when Zhou arrived home from work, the police came to ransack his house again. Giving no reason, the police tried to take away Zhou and his wife Chen Ying. Zhou refused to go with them. Several policemen then tried to take him away illegally with force. In this struggle, he fell from the 6th floor window and died.

We appeal to all kind-hearted people to pay attention to this type of vicious crime and help stop this brutal and senseless persecution. If not stopped, the persecution against Falun Dafa and Dafa disciples today could very well grow into persecution against all just and kind-hearted people tomorrow.
