Persecution Cases from A'cheng, Heilongjiang Province (Part I)

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhang Xiaoling, female, 38 years old, lives in the No.46 Building in the Relay Factory of Echeng, Heilongjiang Province. She was threatened by Li Chunjiang of the Security Division of the factory and the local "6.10" Office (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.)

Wu Junqing, female, 39 years old, lives on Relay Street, Echeng. On November 10, 2001, the Security Division of the Relay Factory extorted 3,000 Yuan RMB from her [equivalent to 6-months average monthly pay for an urban worker.] She was also fined because she went to Beijing to appeal.

Gao Shuqin, female, 60 years old, lives on Relay Street, Echeng. On June 19, 1999, the Echeng Police Department took away her computer.

Guan Suyun, female, 60 years old, lives on Relay Street, Echeng. On August 28, 1999, the Security Division of the Relay Factory extorted 5,000 Yuan RMB from her (about 10-months average monthly pay for an urban worker.); the Echeng "6.10" office also extorted 1,000 Yuan RMB from her. On February 26, 2001, the Security Division of the Relay Factory extorted another 1,600 Yuan RMB from her. She was also illegally detained twice, from June 18, 2000 to August 28, 2000 and from January 19, 2001 to March 31, 2001, respectively.

Guan Liping, female, 39 years old, lives in the No.27 Daqing Building of the Relay Factory. On August 7, 2000, Gong, the chief of the Legal Section in the Echeng Police Department, extorted 2,000 Yuan RMB from her; and Zhang Wenxuan in the Security Division of the factory extorted another 5,000 Yuan RMB from her. She was arrested because she went to Beijing to appeal. Afterwards, she was sent to a detention center and was illegally detained for two months. The detention center tried to force a confession from her, and she had to hold a hunger strike.

Zheng Baohe, male, 29 years old, works in the Echeng Relay Factory. Since he was determined in practicing Falun Gong, the leaders of a sub-factory of the Relay Factory took the opportunity of a lay-off to force him out of his job. The Security Division of the factory, the factory "6.10" Office and the lawless leaders of the sub-factory had threatened him many times because of his practicing Falun Gong.

Zhao Fengying, female, 41 years old, works in the Echeng Relay Factory. On January 19, 2001 she was deceived into going to the Security Division of the factory at home. Afterwards, she was sent to the Echeng Second Detention Center without any legitimate reason and detained for 70 days. Later on, she was forced into a brainwashing class and kept in the class for another 14 days. The major chief of the Security Division, Jing Zhongxue, also extorted 1,600 Yuan RMB from her. On September 19, 2001, while she was working, the officials of the factory forcefully took her to the Security Division Office. They did not allow her to go out and have lunch. Later on, they imposed a charge on her and illegally detained her in the Echeng Second Detention Center. In the end, she had to hold a hunger strike and it caused her stomach to bleed. On September 28, her family picked her up from the center and she went home. Officials of the Security Division and the police in the Hedong Street Police Station violated the law while enforcing the law. They arrested innocent people arbitrarily and caused tremendous hurt on Zhao both physically and mentally. She still has not gotten over the abuse.

Yang Ping, female, 62 years old, lives in the unit #5, building block #1 at Chezhan Street and Tongcheng Avenue. On December 31, 2001, the Local "6.10" office extorted 2,000 Yuan RMB from her twice. The Eshenhe Commune withheld 1,500 Yuan RMB. On June 19, 2000, since she asked for the release of other detained Falun Gong practitioners, she was detained for two days and one night. Later, she went to Beijing to appeal and then was illegally detained for 16 days. She was sworn at during her detention. Tan, the chief of Eshehe Primitive Commune, and Wang, the vice chief of the commune, also swore at her. In addition, the police of the local police station often went to her home, disturbed her, and did not allow her have peace.

Xia Lihua, female, 53 years old, lives on the unit #4, building block #2, Tongcheng Street. On July 28, 1999, the Zhanqian Police Station extorted 200 Yuan RMB from her; Zou Qiwu was the person mainly responsible. She was also detained for 12 hours since she went to Beijing to appeal on July 22, 1999.

Shao Huafeng, female, 33 years old, lives on Tongcheng Street. The Echeng "6.10" office extorted from her 2,000 Yuan RMB on February 3, 2000. Zou Qiwu was the again the person mainly responsible. She was also arrested for continuing to practice Falun Gong and then detained for 70 days. During her detention, she was sworn at and punished physically.

Wang Rixia, female, 45 years old, lives in the Railway Community, Echeng. From July 23, 1999 to December 2000, since she kept practicing Falun Gong, her workplace held brainwashing classes for her many times. She was forced to eat and sleep in the workplace and was not allowed to go home. She was also monitored and disturbed.

Yan Shuyun, female, 60 years old, lives in the Hedong Relay Residential Building. Police of Hedong Police Station, officials of the Safeguard Division in the Relay Factory, and Han Jingwu, the vice director of the Retirement Office of the Relay Factory, threatened him with phone calls many times.

Guan Yunbo, male, 37 years old, lives on Tongcheng Street. On February 3, 2000, Policeman Gong Zhaoxian in the Echeng Police Station extorted 1,000 Yuan RMB from him. Policemen Zhao Yutian and Zou Qiwu in the CheZhan Police Station were also involved in this extortion. On February 3, 2000, he was sent to a detention center because he kept practicing Falun Gong and declared that Falun Gong was a righteous Fa. During his detention, Yang Qi brutally beat him because he practiced the exercise. Later on, since his workplace and family asked for his release, he was then released on April 13. He was punished physically, beaten brutally, and sworn at during his 71-day detention. While returning home, he was still illegally monitored by the local police station, street community and other organizations.

Zhang Guirong, female, 48, lives on the unit #5, building block #4, Tongcheng Street. From May to December, 2000, the Echeng Police Department and Police Station extorted money from her three times, totaling 6,692 Yuan RMB, saying it was the earnest money [bail] and traveling expense to Beijing for taking him back. The responsible person was Liu Weihong. From February 22 to March 9, 2001, he was illegally placed in confinement. The police punished him by forcing him to stand for 17 to 18 hours every day. They also did not allow him to sleep for 60 hours straight. In addition, they handcuffed him on the cell door for 3 days and 2 nights. Later, they hung him up with his arms tied behind his back and only the tips of his feet touching the ground. As a result, his right hand always felt numb after that. On June 19, 2001, the thugs applied high-pressure persecution, hanging him up by his hands, which were tied behind him. He was hung this way for 32 hours. With his mouth covered, it was hard for him to breath. After being hung-up, his feet became red and swollen. He was not able to walk or squat, and it was difficult for him to turn when lying on bed. During his hunger strike and force-feeding, the hospital director Song Shaohui slapped him so that blood flowed from his mouth. His right cheek was slapped until it was swollen, with the swelling not subsiding for 10 days. During his force-feeding, he was intubated through his nose more then 80 times. They force-fed him twice a day for 45 days in succession. His mouth had a one-inch long cut because of the hospital director's slapping. His gums were all swollen so that he could not open his month.

Zhang Yiwei, male, 52 years old, works in the Hedong Relay Institute, Echang, Heilongjiang. In August 2000, Gong, the chief of the Legal Division in the Echeng Police Department, and Zhang Wenxuan, an official of the Relay Factory, jointly extorted 7,000 Yuan RMB from him. On June 9, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal and clarify the truth. He then was arrested by the Echeng police who were stationed in Beijing. Later, police of the Hedong Police Station escorted him back to Echeng and detained him in a detention center. He then lost his personal freedom. He was illegally detained for 58 days. During that period, he experienced all kinds of beatings from the criminals and was treated inhumanely. In 2001, the Jiang and Luo's regime forcefully applied brainwashing to Falun Gong practitioners all over the country. He left home in order not to cooperate with this evil. In January 2001, the factory stopped his monthly off-post pay [the social assistance payment the government gives to a laid-off worker] of 217 Yuan RMB. They deprived him of a normal life and his basic human rights.
