Introducing Falun Dafa in Milan, Italy

November 10, 2001 was a Saturday. With the approval from the Milan Police Department, some practitioners, including Chinese and Westerners, practiced Falun Gong and clarified the truth to the people in the Chinese community.

The Chinese community in Milan has both Chinese and Italian residents. It is very busy on weekends. The practicing site was almost at the heart of the community. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., we practiced the Falun Gong exercises again and again and sent forth righteous thoughts. The Falun Dafa music was echoing in the streets, attracting many people. A great number of Chinese and Italian residents who used to be deceived by the Chinese government's propaganda came to know the truth of Falun Gong. People with kind hearts were hence saved.

Near the practice site was a famous Chinese restaurant. The people there seemed very nervous when they saw us. Several cars from the Chinese consulate stopped by and some Chinese officials went into the restaurant. There was tension in the air. The practitioners were quietly sending forth righteous thoughts and practicing the exercises. Some of them kindly passed the truth-clarifying literature to the Chinese people. Just then, several workers went out of the restaurant and started to clean the windows. Using the excuse of doing the cleaning, they were trying to drive the practitioners away. They deliberately splashed the dirty detergent water on the ground to stop the practitioners from doing the meditation. The police officers keeping the peace there were angry at their conduct. They stopped them and fined them a large sum of money because they splashed the dirty water on the ground. After that, the people in the restaurant did not come out to interfere any more.

Still, they did not allow us to hang the banners on the wall of the restaurant. So we held the banners in our hands. Throughout the day, all the passers-by could see the words "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance" on the banners. Many Chinese people changed their hostile attitude towards Falun Dafa after practitioners clarified the truth to them with benevolence and eliminated the hatred towards Falun Dafa in their minds. Some of them expressed gratitude to the practitioners.

The officials in the Chinese consulate and some mysterious guys whose identity were unknown were also very busy taking pictures and videotaping us. Some appeared to be interested and came over to ask for truth-clarifying literature. We gave them the literature and introduced Falun Dafa to them. No matter what their purpose was, they are sentient beings in the universe, hence they should know the truth. The people among them with a pre-destined relationship might generate kind thoughts and be saved.

We kept telling everyone that it is the law of the universe "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance" that constructs our lives. We asked them not to oppose that law, for each and every one of us is a sentient being in the universe. Many people considered those words seriously.

The police left for about ten minutes. A man who claimed to be the head of a commercial association took the opportunity and furiously tried to drive us away. Some local people said, "He has taken their money. Of course he would say bad things against you." When the police returned, the "head of the commercial association" disappeared.

The local Italian residents showed great interest in Falun Dafa. Some of them were angry at the persecution after reading the SOS flyers and they expressed support for our peaceful appeal. A young man said, "I have been looking for the true way of cultivation practice all my life. I believe I have found it this time."

At the end of the day, the two policemen from the Milan Police Department also said that they would like to know more about Falun Dafa. Their presence helped us carry out the activities smoothly. It also checked the conduct of those with evil intentions. Here we are sincerely grateful for their work in promoting justice.
