Some Thoughts on "Believing" from an Experience with a CD Player Breakdown

A week ago, when we were practicing the five sets of exercises in the morning, the CD player suddenly stopped working. Being dominated by everyday people's notions, I failed to relate the failure to the interference of the evil and instead explained that it was because the CD was worn out. After I changed CDs, however, the CD player immediately ran dead after I turned on the electricity. I couldn't get the machine to work in any way, so we had to finish the practice without music.

That evening, my son told me that although we had previously thought it was a technical hitch, when he tried to play a music CD on it, there was no problem at all. He found out at once that it was the interference from the evil and sent forth the righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil behind the CD player. After that he turned the CD player back on again and everything returned to normal: the Dafa music and the voice of Teacher came out clearly once again.

During this morning's practice, the problem with the CD player recurred. Drawing from my last experience, I immediately held my palm upright and recited the Teacher's verses to eliminate the evil and rectify the Fa. After I recited for more than 10 times, I turned on the machine and everything was normal.

I related that situation to a problem my computer was having when I was downloading materials describing the truth about Dafa a short time ago. Each time it occurred, it wasted a lot of my time. Later on, I read from the Internet a similar situation that other practitioners encountered. Their computer returned to normal after they eliminated the evil behind it. So I also used the Teacher's verses to eliminate the evil forces behind my computer. Then the computer became normal as expected, and I no longer found any problems with it.

From these events I enlightened to the fact that Dafa is supernormal and that Dafa practitioners in the Fa-rectification period are supernormal as well. Therefore, all that we are doing in clarifying the truth to people and in our cultivation are certainly supernormal. Then, instead of looking upon these matters from the perspective of an everyday human being, we should stand on the basis of a cultivator to approach the problems if we run into any trouble or tribulation in our cultivation. The most important point is that at any time our thoughts must be kept within Dafa. In other words, we should learn the Fa in the heart, not just learn the Fa in a superficial form. The issue of "believing" is important too; it determines how we believe in Dafa and how we believe in our Teacher.

With determined belief, a lot of practitioners escaped from jail in incredible ways. Some of them were able to climb over high walls or take off their handcuffs themselves or leave the police stations, detention centers, and brainwashing class in an open and above-board manner even after being severely beaten. With determined belief, a lot of imprisoned practitioners demonstrated the noble integrity that shocks the evil, even under the virtually unrivaled brutality of the torture. With determined belief, many practitioners arrived in Tiananmen Square to fulfill their solemn vows and returned safely. These practitioners included an old man who was more than 90 years old and young children, and some of them have made the trip several times. With determined belief, practitioners overcome tremendous difficulties and save money to print truth-clarifying materials and thus offer people salvation to them by awakening their conscience. With determined belief, the practitioners moved the policemen who had kind nature and made the vicious policemen unable to see or move if they found the practitioners were posting Dafa flyers. With the determined belief, countless practitioners are putting down one attachment after another and shaking off the restriction of human thoughts and rising to their original positions in heaven at a rapid speed.

Everything can be summed up in the word "belief." A small difference in thoughts will bring about completely different consequences. In the case of the breakdown of my CD player, I understand now that the interference from the evil will frustrate any human attempt if we tackle the problem from the human point of view. No matter whether you change CD's, repair the machine, or even buy a new machine (actually my machine is not old), it will be no use at all because the root of the trouble is not there. Therefore, we shouldn't always hold on to human notions and regard ourselves as ordinary human beings.

Moreover, if you don't have the belief in Dafa when you are sending forth righteous thoughts, there will be no effect at all. Insufficient belief and an impure mind will discount the power of your righteous thoughts, too. Our teacher has told us: "However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is (Also In a Few Words)." If we always remember that we are Dafa cultivators while keeping a determined belief and a pure mind, nothing will stop us in the rectification of Fa.
