4. The Evil's Fear

The evil fears the speed at which Dafa truth-clarifying materials are spreading, that more and more people know the truth about Falun Dafa, and people are learning about the persecution. Anyone on the street who is carrying full bags is illegally stopped and searched for Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. One friend said that his bag was checked when he went into his residential area.

At subways, bus stops, tourist attractions, supermarkets, foot bridges, foot paths, residential areas, and rural farms there are increased numbers of plain clothes policemen, secret agents, security officers, police, old women with red bands (neighborhood watchers), unemployed people who are paid to monitor, follow, and search people in order to stop the spread of truth-clarifying materials.

One lady was handing out leaflets in the subway and inadvertently gave one to a policeman. For this she was taken away; an elderly lady who lives near me was illegally detained and later sentenced to a labor camp simply because she was handing out leaflets.

Li Jie's home phone was tapped and her whole family was taken away while the police stole many of their private possessions. With righteous thoughts, Li Jie was able to walk out under the watch of police officers. Her rented unit was searched and blocked. The kindhearted landlady was only concerned that Li Jie was all right. Later Li Jie's husband was unlawfully sentenced.

One day, the landlord said that he saw a car following our car, which we use to transport truth-clarifying materials. He saw them very clearly. We removed all the materials in half a day and placed the printing machine in a safe place. This printing site lasted for a month before it was discovered. During that time we heard that in Beijing five other printing sites were discovered and destroyed.

5. Verifying the Fa at Tiananmen Square

In October 2000, many practitioners went to Tiananmen Square to verify the Fa.

On October 6, 2000: there were seas of people at Tiananmen Square. Among the crowds there were flickers of paper as Falun Dafa leaflets were thrown into the air. Bright Falun Dafa banners could be seen sailing through the crowds or standing out from the people around them. Vicious police officers were pushing back tourists and snatching leaflets from their hands. In broad daylight they dared to kick, beat, and drag practitioners into police vehicles. Then the cleaning trucks came to wash the bloodstains from the ground. How can such horrendous crimes be washed away? The sky thunders with anger! In just half a day, 30 vans full of practitioners were driven away. Towards the south of the Square there were many parked vans filled with police officers.

There was a mother and daughter from Changchun city, Jilin province. The mother had a slight limp as a result of being tortured by the police and the daughter was pregnant. The daughter's husband had been illegally arrested. They first helped us to bind the miniature Jingwen (Teacher's articles) that we made with one quarter B5 paper, a size that was easy for those practitioners forced to wander the streets to avoid illegal arrest to carry. After finishing the binding, mother and daughter went to Tiananmen and unfurled a Falun Dafa banner. Although they were arrested, their righteous thoughts shocked the evil and that night, and they walked out of the detainment center.

Wang and a few other veteran practitioners went to Tiananmen Square. They unfurled banners and most of them returned safely. After Wang unfurled the banner, two police arrested him and wanted to take him away. With confidence and nothing to hide he walked in front of them and the two police walked behind him. When they saw two other officers walking towards Wang, they left. In the end, no one paid attention to him so he was able to leave safely.

Zhao Hong, Gao Jun, and other practitioners who had printed the materials were sharing experiences and they decided to go to Tiananmen Square. Wang said that Falun Dafa practitioners are gods safeguarding the Fa among mankind and we should stand up to safeguard the Fa. Evil is like a paper tiger--it's nothing. Wang said that he wanted to go to Tiananmen Square again. Zhao Hong and Gao Jun had both been jailed at a rehabilitation center and cruelly tortured. They had wanted to go to Tiananmen Square again for a very long time. Every time they saw practitioners being tortured, their hearts would bleed for them. All six practitioners wished to go to Beijing to verify the Fa. They only stayed because we needed people to print the leaflets. Zheng Fa said that all 10 of them had decided to go to Tiananmen Square and display Falun Dafa banners.

Li Yi wanted to me go to the plate-making site. Li Yi, who had stood up to safeguard the Fa many times, has a car and many contacts. She expressed that she wished to use these advantages to spread the truth of Falun Dafa more widely and then go to Tiananmen Square to verify the Fa. Xu Jing took out the "Truth" booklet which they had just finished preparing. It consisted of 15 pages of A4 size paper bound in half and was waiting for printing. She and a practitioner who is an artist spent half a month collecting articles from the Internet and making selections. That night when I was traveling to the printing site, I read the booklet. It had articles recording the heroic feats of practitioners such as Chen Zixiu, Gu Lina, Zhao Ming, and Zhao Xin and contained the documentation of the spread of Falun Dafa overseas over the past year. I cried all the way through.

When I arrived at the printing site, about 10 people were preparing materials to be used while at Tiananmen the next day. The lounge walls were filled with golden colored banners with red characters. "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance", "Falun Dafa is good", "Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa", "Clear the reputation of Falun Dafa", "Clear the reputation of Master", "The Law Wheel turns forever", "Xuan Fa Zhi Xu", "The Boundless Buddha Fa". One person followed another in writing these characters. Many had never picked up a brush before; but they were able to write the calligraphy with great strength because they were using their hearts to write. Some practitioners were quietly reading Falun Dafa books and some were practicing the exercises. In one room, two practitioners were printing sticker paper because they needed to finish the last batch. Another practitioner was scraping off the paint while another was placing the sticker paper on. The finished ones were placed on the ground to dry. After one batch was put away, the whole floor was soon covered again. The white paper was filled with red printed characters, sending out benevolent rays. Being in such an atmosphere was too wonderful to be described in words.

The next day, everyone got up early to practice the exercises together. After practicing, we cooked a big pot of porridge and finished all the left over food. Then everyone left at different times one after another to go to Tiananmen Square. One practitioner, surname He, with a child under a year old also went.

6. Starting Afresh

After a few days, three people returned, practitioner He with her child, a female practitioner from Shandong Province, and practitioner Chu. There was no news about the others.

Practitioner He, together with her daughter were arrested after shouting "Falun Dafa is good." Her daughter, Xiaoxiao was especially quiet as she slept in her mother's arms. But as soon as she saw the police she frowned, cried, and yelled. Practitioner He refused to reveal her name and two days later she was able to walk out. While practitioner He was pregnant with Xiaoxiao, she went to Tiananmen to safeguard the Fa. Once she practiced the exercises at Tiananmen, many tourists surrounded her to watch. Taking over the tour guide's loudspeaker, she yelled, "Falun Dafa is good" which moved everyone's heart deeply. Those police officers who still have consciences quickly told her to leave. After Xiaoxiao was born, her mother and father took her with them to appeal. All three were arrested by the local police and jailed. Fellow practitioners looked after Xiaoxiao who was still on breast milk. She does not mind who carries her and eats whatever she is given. After her mother was released, she took Xiaoxiao back with her to Beijing and carried her in a baby pouch while she handed out truth-clarifying materials. Xiaoxiao never cried.

The police in the hometown of the female practitioner from Shandong Province are especially vicious. Many Dafa practitioners have been illegally detained and put into labor camps. Some practitioners were beaten to death. She faced many pressures from her family when she went to appeal. This time after going to Tiananmen, when she was sent back to her hometown, she sent forth righteous thoughts and was able to escape during the trip. She returned to Beijing and continued to print sticker paper. Practitioner Chu's family lives in another province and after he graduated from university, he worked in Beijing. When the police came to his work place, he was forced to leave his position. This time after going to Tiananmen, he was arrested and jailed and was going to be returned to his hometown. However, with righteous thoughts, he was able to walk out of the Beijing Liaison Office.

We decided to start printing new materials and had an experience sharing at Li Yi's house. All three members of Li Yi's family practice Falun Dafa and that night the whole room was filled with people. Everyone was dear and calm. We discussed personal opinions on how to better clarify the truth, avoid police interruptions and disturbances, and also discussed experiences and lessons learned in the past month. A young lady, the boss of W company in S City, said that recently truth-clarifying materials are quickly distributed in her city, causing the local police to be afraid. Recently, the printing site was removed and they are preparing to start afresh. She taught fellow practitioners to use wisdom to print large amounts of truth-clarifying materials (approximately 9,000,000 copies) for long periods of time in this extremely evil environment. After work, she organizes group Fa studying and always uses Dafa to resolve her conflicts; she has been successful each time. Once, everyone photocopied, glued, cut, and bound more than a thousand small Jingwen booklets (Teacher's articles). Outside we glued on golden colored covers and on the upper left side we printed the words "Jingwen". We spent a total of two days and distributed one thousand booklets to those practitioners who lacked the articles. In such a bad environment, everyone was greatly encouraged and some practitioners cried when they were given the Jingwen.
