(Clearwisdom.net) (Originally published in April 2001) Wang Bo is a 20-year-old woman. She was a college student in the Music Department of China's Central Music Conservatory. She was expelled from school and illegally sent to a labor camp for three years because of her belief in Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance. Now she is being inhumanely tortured in that living hell. We are calling for help in rescuing this talented college student.
Wang Bo started to learn piano when she was young. She is very intelligent and sincere. In her 12-year study of music, all of her instructors enjoyed teaching her because she was gentle and mild. When she was 8 years old, she won the award for excellence in piano performance in Hebei Province. At 13, she passed the 10th level (highest level of skill) of national amateur piano playing.
After she entered high school, she followed the trend of moral corruption in society. She became selfish and lazy, and began seeking material pleasures. Driven by the pursuits of fame and self-interest, she rejected other peoples advice and became arrogant, conceited, and impatient. She was sick a lot, and her grades and the quality of her musical performances plunged.
At that time, she started to notice great changes in her parents. Both of them had benefited a lot from cultivating Falun Dafa. As a result, she started to read Zhuan Falun and began her cultivation. Cultivating together with her parents, she came to understand many principles of Dafa. She was deeply touched by "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance." From then on, she developed a firm belief in Dafa. Disciplining herself strictly, she became independent and diligent. She looked inside herself when problems came up. She enjoyed helping others, and became more and more assimilated to "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance." Her grades and performances improved rapidly when she started cultivation.
With excellent scores on the entrance examination for college, she was concurrently accepted by the Tianjin Music Institute, Central Music Institute and Hebei Normal University. In the test of "talent of musical skills" held by Central Music Institute, most students fail, but Wang Bo did so well that she won an award of 1,000 Yuan [Approximately 2-months salary of an average urban worker]. The teachers who administered the test thought that she was a very talented student. All of these are genuine examples of her wisdom being broadened through Dafa. Her story is a strong rebuttal to the disparaging comments made by He Zuoxiu and his associates. Wang Bo deeply understands that she has benefited from Dafa. Her wish is that everyone can also benefit from the goodness of Dafa. Seeing that Dafa was being slandered viciously by some bad people, she spoke the truth to people in the college with a kind and selfless heart. For doing that, and also for refusing to renounce Dafa, she was expelled from school in September of 2000.
One day in Dec. 2000, Wang Bo went to Tiananmen Square to peacefully appeal to the government. She went with a kind heart and trust in the government. Exercising a citizens basic rights, she opened a Dafa banner and spoke out the words from her heart, "Falun Dafa is good!" Policemen in plain clothes and others in uniforms swarmed around her. They beat her with fists, kicked her with boots and hit her on the head with batons. Several big and rude fellows threw her into a police car and drove her to Tiananmen Police Station.
In the police station, officers searched her body forcefully and took away 600 Yuan from her while saying extremely dirty words. When the police promised to release her if she gave her name and address, she believed their lies and told them. As a result, she was sentenced by Yudong Police Station (in Shijiazhuang City) to a labor camp term of three years, simply for her sincere call, "Falun Dafa is good." She was only 19 when they sent her to the labor camp.
Wang Bo's father is also a Dafa practitioner. He went to legally appeal in Beijing, and spoke out about the truth of Falun Gong. For this, he was dismissed from the Party and all his administrative duties. Also, he was not paid for six months, and his persecutors even detained him for 21 days. Wang Bo's mother is also a practitioner who has gone to appeal in Beijing many times. As a result, she was illegally detained again and again. The total time she has spent in detention centers exceeds 100 days. Now she has been forced to abandon her home to avoid further persecution. A perfect family has thus been torn apart. They were persecuted simply because they persisted in their cultivation to become better people, and because they wanted more people with a predestined relationship to benefit from obtaining Dafa.
Wang Bo is now illegally detained in Shijiazhuang Labor Camp (No. 5 division, subdivision 2). While transferring her from the detention center to the labor camp, policemen in Yudong Police Station illegally took away 500 Yuan--the only money she had. Also, the police did not even notify Wang Bo's parents when sending her to the labor camp. Her whereabouts were unknown to them. The labor camp does not allow visitors, so she has been separated from her parents for more than four months now.
In March, 2001, Dafa practitioners in No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 divisions of Shijiazhuang Labor Camp spontaneously went on hunger strikes to voice their grievances and to request their release. Afraid that people outside would learn the truth of their persecution, the labor camp officials did not allow any visitors. We don't know what is happening to Wang Bo inside that living hell.
We are calling for the family members of Dafa practitioners to take action immediately and stop the criminal behavior of Jiang Zemin and his associates. Not only Wang Bo, but also countless other excellent citizens have been detained and tortured illegally for speaking out against the persecution of Falun Gong. We are also calling for international human rights organizations to investigate and stop the severe human rights violations by Jiang Zemin and his followers. Cultivating to be a better person is a basic human right of every human being.
