Story of An Old Pagoda

In the summer of 1994, some of my co-workers and I went on a tour to Mount Qingcheng in Sichuan Province. There was an old secluded temple on the mountaintop, dating back to the Jin Dynasty (265~420 A.D.). The people of that place were simple and unsophisticated, preserving the virtue of the east.

I can still remember a story told to us while we were on the temple tour. On the hill behind the temple, there was a unique old tower. A local resident approached us and explained, "This is a tower where an accomplished monk achieved nirvana. During the Cultural Revolution, three Red Guards broke into the tower and saw the unspoiled flesh body of the monk sitting there upright. Seeing that the Red Guards wanted to destroy it, the local people told them, 'Please don't move the old monk's body. If you hurt him, you will receive retribution.' Those Red Guards did not listen and called the locals superstitious. They insisted on pulling the body out of its sitting place in the tower and destroying it." The local people could do nothing to prevent this atrocity, which made them very sad. The ignorant Red Guards made a huge mistake by refusing to heed the advice. Some time later, all three Red Guards either died suddenly or from a strange disease. The Gang of Four, the leading criminals of the Cultural Revolution were also put on public trial and received sentences. The outcome that evil will receive retribution never fails.

After reading that Yuan Jiang, a Falun Gong practitioner in Gansu Province, was detained for a month and died from brutal police torture. It was then that I recalled the story of the tower. Police, military police and other officials deluded by Jiang Zemin into persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, has it occurred to you that your persecution of those Falun Gong practitioners who "do not fight back when beaten or sworn at" is against the law of heaven and will receive retribution?

The "610 Office" is another organization whose purpose is to carry out persecution of the same style as during the Cultural Revolution. The orders it issues are all illegal and unable to stand public exposure. What kind of law would allow for orders such as: "Take no responsibility for beating people to death and beating to death will be considered suicide?" Whoever kills other people should pay with his life and whoever owes debts should pay with his money. This is the generally acknowledged axiom throughout the ages and from which no one is exempt. Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan issued orders through the "610 Office" without signatures, provoked people to persecute 100 million Falun Gong practitioners and their families, created the biggest injustice in human history, committed huge crimes and will soon become extinct. Persecutors should think about the story of the old tower. Even if some of them are deluded into committing wrong doings, heavenly law will still not permit their deeds. Please choose a bright future instead of being buried with Jiang Zemin.
