[Minghui Net] In late March, Falun Gong practitioners in Macao appealed to the Legal Commissioner about the infringement of Falun Gong practitioners' citizens' rights by plainclothes policemen. Practitioners hoped that the Legal Commissioner could help to communicate and coordinate with the police, reduce the workload on the police, reduce the devotion of the police force on this issue, cut down on government expenses and resolve matters in the ultimate interests of the Macao people. More than three weeks have passed since the appeal. There has been no response.
In recent weeks, however, the illegal surveillance has been escalating. In some cases, the plainclothes policemen keep watch on practitioners all day. It starts at 5'clock in the morning, when practitioners practice their exercises in the parks. They then follow practitioners back home; on their way to work; going outside on errands; during lunch break; returning to work again and while going home after work. Even when practitioners had finish work and went grocery shopping, the plainclothes policemen would follow. They stayed and kept watch in the streets outside practitioners' houses until late into the night. The next day, early in the morning, they begin the same routine all over again. They monitor and tail practitioners under any circumstances and during all kinds of weather, in a matter-of-fact manner.
Aren't the Macao police targeting the wrong people? Falun Gong has already spread in Macao for several years. While living under the Portuguese government or under the Special District government, Macao Falun Gong practitioners, like practitioners all around the world, have never committed any criminal offense. We are all law-abiding people with high moral standards. Is it necessary for the Macao police to pay so much attention and effort on us?
As Macao citizens, we hope the autonomous region government can use the precious, expensive and limited police force in a more practical and profitable way, instead of wasting their money and manpower and create a process that prevents the police from infringing on our human rights and from abusing their powers of law enforcement.
Regarding the Falun Gong issue, some policemen are full of grievances. They said Falun Gong people do the exercises so early that they, the police, cannot get enough sleep. Moreover, they claim it is so laborious to follow Falun Gong practitioners around all over the place, yet they may still be criticized for not doing the work well. We sympasize with the policemen's difficulties, but we should let you know that it is not Falun Gong that brings you trouble, it is Jiang Zemin and his accomplices! It is they who consider millions of good people as their enemies. It is Jiang's regime that is to blame. They use vicious, brutal and contemptible means and exhaust national manpower and resources to suppress Falun Gong. Currently, over 190 innocent Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted to death, which is murder. Thousands of people are suffering from the crackdown. Macao is under the "One Country, Two Systems" policy of government, however, the letter of Macao law should be followed. Macao's interests should be the biggest concern and main consideration.
There is certainly a final reckoning between good and evil; a final retribution for the bad and a final reward for good.
