Distributing Dafa Literature at the Evening Banquet Welcoming the Chinese Ambassador to Seattle

On May 5, Chinese Ambassador Yang Jiechi came to visit Seattle and the local Chinese community invited him to an evening banquet. More than 400 people were invited, including a Dafa practitioner. The practitioner planned to give the ambassador some literature explaining the truth of Falun Gong. At the party, she kept righteous thoughts in her mind. She was led to a seat for the media, which was very close to where the ambassador was seated. After all the guests were seated and some photos taken, there was a quiet moment before the banquet started.

With pure thoughts, the practitioner politely put all the Dafa materials she had prepared on the table in front of Ambassador Yang Jiechi. With a mild but serious attitude, she told the ambassador, "Ambassador, I invite you to carefully read these materials about the truth of Falun Gong." All of the guests watched this silently. With a surprised look on her face, the wife of the ambassador also looked at the covers of the materials. Politely, the practitioner said goodbye, since she knew that she was not there to enjoy the food or drinks. With her righteous thoughts and actions, via the ambassador, she called for all Chinese officials with consciences to stop the atrocities committed by Jiang Zemin and his associates. In addition, via the guests at the banquet and the reporters present, she told the people in her own country, "Falun Dafa is a truly wonderful cultivation method, and it can benefit anyone who is willing to open his heart to it. Please do not miss the opportunity to learn Falun Dafa."

According to a guest at the party (not a practitioner), the ambassador did not say a single untruthful word about Dafa. The power of Dafa practitioners' righteous thoughts and pure compassion are tremendous. Outside the banquet, also with peaceful minds and righteous thoughts, Dafa practitioners held banners that read, "Falun Dafa is Good," "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," and "China: Stop Persecuting Falun Gong." Their politeness and orderliness impressed the guests and passersby. Many of them happily accepted and even asked for fliers that explained the truth about Falun Gong. Reporters from several Chinese radio stations and newspapers also came and interviewed Dafa practitioners.

Through these media, practitioners patiently told the people of the world, "We welcome Chinese people from all walks of life to come and learn more about the truth of Falun Gong. We also hope that everyone can understand and support Falun Gong with your kindness and sense of justice, which have always been a part of the spirit of our nation. We hope that everyone can take action to stop the wicked people from slandering Dafa and persecuting our fellow practitioners. We also hope that we can get in touch more so we can understand each other better. In the process, perhaps you will get a whole new understanding of Falun Dafa and even become a practitioner. With compassion and wisdom, we will try to do better in telling people the truth and in spreading Dafa." From young students to seniors of 73, practitioners quietly distributed fliers on the streets near the banquet location. The practitioners did not leave until after 9 p.m., when the banquet had already finished and the last person had left with a flier in his hand.
