The magazine's advance notification provided to the Central News Agency stated that when Mr. Chen was asked about what would be discussed if Jiang Zemin were to visit Taiwan, he replied, "First, we hope Mr. Jiang understands that Taiwan is a truly democratic regime, and our legislative organization, the media and society are multi-faceted. Second, we expect Jiang Zemin to understand that most Taiwanese will not approve of the establishment of the "One Country, Two Systems" policy in Taiwan. Third, we'll make it clear to Jiang Zemin that Taiwan implements true freedom of religion. Falun Gong's becoming an issue in China has by no means created any questions in Taiwan."
