Falun Dafa Practitioner Chi Yulian Murdered by Dalian Policemen

A Falun Dafa Practitioner from China

[Minghui Net] Falun Dafa practitioner Chi Yulian, from Wangjia Village, Lingshui Town, Ganjingzi District of Dalian City, in Liaoning Province was persecuted to death in the Yaojia Detention Center of Dalian City. The entire course of the incident is as follows:

On the afternoon of May 29, 2001, Chi Yulian was cooking when policemen from the Zhou Shuizi Police Substation, led by Officer Ji of the Lingshui Police Substation, broke into her home. They threw her onto the bed with both of her hands cuffed. After ransacking her home and finding Falun Dafa books and materials, they dragged her into the police van, without even allowing her to put on her shoes. There were many people standing around outside watching. They felt angry and one after another denounced the actions of the police. Chi Yulian's husband stepped in front of the van, trying to prevent it from driving off, but his wife was taken away inspite of his actions.

The next day, the police sent Chi Yulian to the Yaojia Detention Centre. At 4:00pm on June 5^th, her husband received a phone call inquiring about whether Chi Yulian had a medical history of "heart attacks." Her husband answered, "No." The caller said, "Chi Yulian suddenly fell unconscious and was suspected to be having a heart attack. She has been sent to the hospital." Her husband asked, "Can I visit her?" The caller told him, "You can come to the detention center tomorrow morning." The following day, when he arrived at the detention center, the director of the police substation told him that his wife had died on the way to Xinshiji Hospital, during an attempt to save her at about 6:00pm the previous day. Yet, the director would not show him any proof to support what he said. Her husband demanded to see his wife's body. The police substation said, "You have to agree to an autopsy; otherwise you will not be allowed to look at the corpse, and you have to sign your name. Since an autopsy is the legal procedure, regardless of whether you sign your name, we have to do one." Hence, her husband was deceived into signing his name since, according to the legal regulations, an autopsy can only be done with the family's permission. The autopsy was done in his presence. He saw that there were very deep handcuff marks around the deceased's wrists. Because he was so grief stricken, he could not continue looking at the body. Later, the body was preserved at the detention center and the husband was not allowed to make arrangements for the cremation himself. However, legally the body should be given over to the family to make the final burial arrangements as they see fit.

The three people in Chi Yulian's family live a difficult life, yet they are healthy and kind-hearted. All of their neighbours know this. When they heard of her death, all of them reminded the husband to make the cause of the death clear before the cremation. This way, there would be a chance to seek justice for the deceased. Her husband consulted a lawyer about whether he could appeal to the court, but the lawyer's answer was that none of the appeal cases related to Falun Gong were accepted or legally heard. Chi Yulian has a ten-year-old boy who always cries at night to his father as he misses his mother so much. The father and son can only cry on each other's shoulders.

We will continue to investigate this incident and the murderer will be punished according law and brought to justice in the near future. We are keeping a record of every criminal who persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners. They will never succeed in escaping justice.

All kind-hearted people, please face up to these facts. Falun Gong practitioners are all kind-hearted common people like you. Yet, their lives in present day China are by no means secure. If you and the people surrounding you all take a laissez-faire attitude towards these criminal actions of treating human life as if it were not worth a straw, this type of experience may happen to you or your family some day in the future. The moral standards of human society are to be jointly safeguarded by every citizen who is responsible and has a sense of justice. Let's work together to stop the atrocities of Jiang Zemin's criminal group.
