Dafa Promoting Activities at the Annual Chinese Culture Festival in Seattle

The annual Chinese culture festival was held on the 2^nd and 3^rd of June in Seattle. Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to participate in this great event. At the opening ceremony on the 2^nd of June, ten practitioners displayed large Falun Dafa signs. Chinese and western practitioners were able to introduce Falun Dafa in both Chinese and English to the participants of the festival. Practitioners were able to show that Falun Dafa is a righteous cultivation practice that benefits both mind and body, while teaching people to be compassionate. Practitioners were also able to announce the various local Falun Dafa activities during the festival.

On the 3^rd of June, the Falun Dafa demonstration was scheduled to be the first demonstration of the day. Wearing bright yellow Dafa T-shirts, twelve practitioners demonstrated the five sets of exercises on stage, creating a peaceful and grand scene. The audience was deeply attracted to and influenced by the energy field generated by the practitioners. As Teacher Li Hongzhi says: "The Buddha-light illuminates everywhere and rectifies all abnormalities."(Zhuan Falun, English version). Some of the observers started to imitate the Falun Dafa practitioners while they performed the exercises, and some started to learn the exercises.

The Falun Dafa display booth contained many Falun Dafa books, various Falun Dafa materials, and also Falun Dafa pictures. The TV set was continuously showing the exercise instruction tape and the video "Falun Dafa: The Real Story." Practitioners also demonstrated the exercises near the booth. At the same time, a large picture series entitled "The Road of the Righteous Fa," and recently released videos in Chinese and English were shown in a designated room on the second floor. Practitioners were also able to answer questions about Falun Dafa, and we found that the responses were very positive.

Through watching the videos and understanding the situation of the persecution of practitioners in China, kind-hearted people expressed their support for Falun Dafa, and some showed an interest in learning the exercises. A friend from China told a practitioner: "You don't need to explain the truth to me. I already know the truth. I was a media professional in China. I know that the job of media professionals in China is to lie. They won't get paid if they don't lie. Telling lies is their job. From their perspective, lying is normal, and it is considered strange if one does not lie." Later, this Chinese person came to learn Falun Dafa.
