Three Orphans in "Civilized" Modern China
The Zhangs' younger sisters and brother
[Minghui Net]
Because the Chinese government slandered Li Hongzhi, founder of Falun Dafa,
and labeled Falun Gong a XX [slanderous term omitted], five members of
our family (my parents and we three children) went to Beijing with our pure
hearts to validate Dafa. We wanted to restore the reputation of our Teacher and
Dafa, and let more people know the truth. Unexpectedly, several plainclothes
policemen followed us and sent us to a county detention center before we could
reach Tiananmen Square.
My parents are still being detained in the detention center. In addition, my
siblings and I (ages 7, 9 and 12) lost all financial support after our uncle
took 1,900 Yuan RMB from us. This was the only money left in our house. Our
uncle was deceived by the lies from the Chinese government's TV shows. He could
not understand us and was therefore opposed to Falun Gong. As a non-cultivator,
it is hard for him to understand the purpose of cultivation because he has not
read Zhuan Falun.
Life is very hard for us right now. We have to work on the weekends to
support ourselves and we still need to go to school during the week. Sometimes
we just eat rice with a bit of salt and water because we don't have enough money
to buy oil and vegetables. While the other children all enjoy the company of
their parents, we have to endure the loneliness of a broken family simply
because we tried to clarify the truth to the people of the world.
Some of the kindhearted people around us (we call them aunts and uncles) have
helped us a lot. Some sent food; some sent clothes and helped with the household
chores; some of them even wanted us to live in their homes so they could take
better care of us.
Our uncle, however, prevented the other aunts and uncles who practice Falun
Gong from taking care of us by threatening to beat them up or have them
arrested. One day when they were coming to check on us, my practitioner uncle
saw that our clothing had been torn apart. Just when he was going to take us to
buy some new clothes, our vicious uncle came in and cursed at him, saying
loudly, "Who asked you to come? Get out of here or I'll beat you to
death." My practitioner uncle said that he only wished to help the children
a bit. The vicious uncle then shouted back, "It's none of your business,
even if they die. If you come again, I won't be so easy on you." He kept on
cursing until my practitioner uncle left. So my vicious uncle cut off the only
warmth given to us by my kind-hearted aunts and uncles.
Today, the three of us are living an extremely hard life with nobody taking
care of us. What we eat is rice with salt and water, and what we wear are torn
clothes.
We had a happy family once, but a few wicked people have torn it apart. We
are practitioners, however, and we act according to the Dafa, becoming kinder
and benefiting the people and our country--what is wrong with that? We exercised
our basic Constitutional rights to appeal and clarify the truth to world's
people--is that a crime? However, without regard for the Constitution and
regulations, a few vicious people in the Chinese government have slandered Falun
Dafa and its founder, our Teacher Li Hongzhi. They have torn so many happy
families apart. Is this the kind of "etiquette" our country displays?
We would like to appeal to all the kindhearted people in the world to help us
eliminate the evil. We also hope the United Nations, the Red Cross, and human
rights organizations throughout the world will send experts to China to
investigate the facts of the brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.
Their freedom of belief and basic human rights have been taken away. [Editor's Note: If you wish to help these orphans, please contact the Clearwisdom Editor by e-mail]
